Randomly discovered distiller's edition Lagavulin today and snatched up a bottle
Color: rich golden amber, tremendous color.
Nose: ash, burnt marshmallow s'mores - both sweet & acrid, everything I love in Scotch in one sniff
Palate: wet & tentative, surprisingly shy at first
Finish: oil & salt & fire & poblano heavily dosed in ground pepper and soot. I want oysters now, on the deck in a light rain.
Overall: trying to remember something, trying to recall, on the tip of the tongue... and then you have it! Eureka!
