Jim is my Scarecrow.

Jimquisition suggests five scary games you can play for your Halloween!
A list video? Here? Dr. Jonathan Crane has gone too far this year. Jim Sterling is The Escapist</em>'s reviews editor and produces Movie Defense Force and Jim & Yahtzee's Uncivil War, alongside Jimquisition. He also hosts the FistShark Marketing podcast, and does videos on his stupid YouTube channel. He wears good quality ties, not great, but nice enough. Check out the latest from Jim Sterling! Check out the latest game reviews from Jim and oth...

These are actually pretty amazing.
Sure these deep space images are awesome, but what exactly are you looking at?

Prussia's continental territories after being forced to surrender after the sack of Berlin. The German people do not forget. Revenge will be sweet.

Tracking the PCs invading the Goblin-held human town of Fallcrest using ACKS and a bunch of six-sided dice in my lunchtime campaign at The Escapist office.

I'm a big fan of eclectic dice collections. Matching sets are for OCD freaks! :)

We have 7 players in my lunch campaign and we play once a week, usually on Wednesdays. Of course, work gets in the way often so there will be stretches when we don't play and it's rare for all 7 players to be in the room. Because of that, the campaign progresses REALLY slowly but the players are all good-natured about it and keeps us going.

As for what we get done, it varies. The campaign is set during an ice age, so just traveling from place to place is an ordeal. In an hour, I can usually run 2 or 3 simple fights in ACKS, or one large conflict. The battle above took some planning, and we had to cut the session after 1.5 hours, because, you know, work and stuff.

How do you officially mention someone in G+? I'd thought the + symbol would do it but every time I try it I look like an idiot.

I probably think about Game of Thrones a bit too much.
There's a lot going on in HBO's epic fantasy series, and the first episode of the season four gets the plot back on track before the brutality.

Just don't do it.
There are many turns in a Civilization V game, but what you do in those first few can have a very large impact.

So excited to share the Player's Companion for ACKS. Alexander Macris has knocked it out of the park by sharing nearly everything that goes on under the hood of ACKS. The comprehensive custom class/race system and spell creation rules for researching and designing original balanced spells are tools that work within any system. Take a look! The PDF is available now (http://shop.gamesalute.com/collections/front-page-1/products/adventurer-conqueror-king-players-companion-deluxe-pdf-preorder) and the hardcover is coming in a few days. (http://shop.gamesalute.com/collections/front-page-1/products/adventurer-conqueror-king-players-companion-hardcover-pdf-bundle-preorder)

So in the course of designing Adventurer Conqueror King +Alexander Macris was secretly also developing a Rosetta stone for old-school gaming and here is both the secret sauce and a lot of tasty things made with it. If you like B/X but want to separate race and class these are the tools. If you like ACKS but don't like proficiencies here's how you can make classes without 'em balanced against those with. If you want 2E's kits without its systemic weirdnesses this is for you. Also there are templates that make chargen for ACKS super-simple and flavorful, and rules for spell research that my White Sandbox campaign has been wanting for years. Links for buying this awesomeness are in the update.
