Usual Suspects
Gran Canaria was a tough holiday in terms of fishing, I think I said before that it didn't feel like a great lure destination and day time fishing was especially fruitless. I lost one big Barracuda one morning that bit me off right at my feet and swam away ...

New Species
Whilst away on Gran Canaria I managed another new species; a Black Tail Comber. I actually misidentified it at first as it looks similar to a Common Comber but the striped markings are irregular in width meaning it is indeed a new one on me, lush! Caught on...

Small Largemouth
Expectations about fishing holidays can be funny things, I have recently been to Gran Canaria and I expected it to be a better lure location than it was, the fishing was painfully tough! Knowing we would be going fishing for Black Bass in a Dam or two, I ha...

I had another nice afternoon on the Glaslyn today, I lost a few, caught a few and had a ton of follows before turn-aways! The river seems to have a good head of fish just now but boy are they picky, when they do hit they hit well but the follows vastly outw...

Afon Acrobats
You know they say that Rainbows are the acrobats of the Trout world but lately on the Afon Glaslyn both the Brownies and Sewin have been displaying some proper acrobatics! I was out again today and caught a few Brownies and a few Sea Trout, mainly caught on...

Flounder vs Jackson Kanade!
In keeping with random and unusual Flatfish captures; I recently caught a Flounder on a Jackson Kanade 50 whilst out for Sea Trout on the lower Glaslyn, he put a proper bend in a rod I'm testing as he kited about in the ebbing current. As a Pure Fishing rep...

A Scottish Road Trip.
I attended the Edinburgh Angling Centre open day whilst representing Tronix Fishing at the weekend, it was quite cool and I had the opportunity to help some newcomers to lure angling which is always rewarding. I met loads of cool people too, both in the ind...

Tecwyn Uchaf again
With not a great deal of time today I decided on the easy option and popped up to Tecwyn Uchaf for an hour or so. It was Rainbows from the first cast, I think the place must have recently been stocked as the fish are all of the same size and were absolutely...

It was blowing an absolute hoolie today and a bloody strong easterly too. This put to bed my first idea  for some rockfishing on the peninsula, I didn't really want to be struggling up there after a good hour or so drive. I therefore decided to stay local a...
