I think it's my usual state working in the customer service realm. People are curious critters...always something to ponder about what is observed over the course of any given day. lol ;)

I dropped from FB for over a year more or less, though have recently made a new - more intimate version - one where the people there are people I enjoy engaging in conversation with and who don't leave me scratching my head wondering at the things they post with strangers.

Members in my own family have horrified me on FB. Thanks to FB, I know more things about people and family I'm sure they would never share in a face-to-face setting. One of my biggest issues with returning to FB was privacy. As this article addresses...it does have an uncanny way of knowing things that I never discussed. And I suppose...now I know why and will take measures to guard against such intimate knowledge of my activities. ;)

+Chris NorthernLight You betcha. I'm doing some research in the office and drifted across the office. FB and it's crystal ball. These days so many things are connected to FB via logins, makes sense that, that's how the tracking goes on. And...the new logarithms I've seen mentioned on timelines by FB pages/celebs/brands encouraging followers to like their content often in order to propel there posts. Oh online world and all its crafty-crafty business. ;)

Despite having mad fingers of chaos, I do enjoy having Dragon as an alternative to being tied to the keys. It's a hit with our students who utilize it. #speechrecognition   #software   #Dragon12

+Cleo Lomax It appears my earlier reply has been stricken from the record. I'll get back to this when I'm tethered to a desk and not searching for reception in this oh-so-lovely weather we're having. ;)

I have a habit of doing this once a year, sometimes more. I detoxed enough this time from the online world that I became nearly non-existent in August. This term, I'm taking an online Social Media Marketing class, which I'm happy to report - I'm quite enthused about and enjoying.

I've been online since the mid-90's and seen a lot of things come, go, change. Over time, I realized I couldn't continue using the online world which such reckless abandon as I had in the beginning. I used to write as much in my own journals as I did online, but as technology made it easier - less and less in paper journals.

And...as a result...I began to forget that the point of having those is that there are things that are best kept their - my rough draft moments - then to air/vent it all. While people may be fond of citing freedom of speech...I also had to remind myself that I was raised with manners. That while yes, freedom of speech, I don't have to exercise it in a way that has the potential to harm or offend others. While at some point offense will no doubt be taken as opinions rub up against each other...I had started to take on a voice that I didn't particularly care for.

So...re-routing, re-thinking, and slowly moving back into the online realm after my extensive Social Media Detox.

Do I do this? Yes, sometimes. But I use no flash and only if it's something I'm recommending for those stopping into try on check-in or food specific apps. But...I can see both sides of the issue. #food #photography

+Donna Kinsella Some great stuff happening out there. It's too bad that its air time is so much smaller than all the negatives.

Creative Critter: Writer, music lover, foodie, amateur photographer, doodler & crafter
Introduction
Quirky freelance writer and amateur photographer, by day I toil beneath the guise of secretary at a local community college, by night I shift shape and turn creative critter (not of the sparkly variety either).

Jokingly referred to by friends as not being Universally Flavored I tend to be a constant work in progress. My parents said I was a Creative Critter from the start and that there were/are few mediums or methods I haven't been willing to try.

I've played with many, mastered none.

Art, in whatever form it takes, has always been a form of the most intimate release.A place I could go to work out, feel through, and be who I was/am at any given moment and express things I may have otherwise refused to express.

Happily owned and adopted by various animals,  inhabitant of  the Kingdom of Southern Oregon, afflicted by an insatiable curiosity, I love laughter and meeting  people from all walks of life.
