OSCON 2014 Aspirations: The Case for Haskell
It's been an exciting year, and it's only just started. Inspired by movements like Allowed to Apply and following all kinds of amazing people on Twitter, I'm going to submit an OSCON proposal this year. I decided this about a day and a half ago, a bit close...

Here's an opportunity to get deeply involved with #rustlang .

Work on cool aspects of the system like:
* Data parallelism in Rust
* Using denotational semantics, prove that a subset of the language is safe (maybe using PLT Redex)
* Use safe arithmetic by default (no overflow)
* Implement rust tools: rustfmt, rust <tool>, etc.
* Improve networking support
