The Scuba Shane Diving mask tamers are back in stock in all your favourite colours. They normally sell out within weeks; it must be all the long hair scuba divers not wanting an aquatic head pluck when removing their scuba mask.

I still have 2 spots for this Saturday scuba dive at #Manta Bommie and #Flinders Reef on Sunday.

The Brisbane river is running a little high on the king tide this morning. Not the best place for a dive but it's alright for a morning coffee.

Manta Bommie did it again!
Manta Lodge yet again looked after us with two exceptional dives on Manta Bommie with Shannon, Sarah, Ricardo, Izzy, Sarah and Simon. The winds picked up and the storms were building on the horizon but beneath the surface was a wonder of some of the most spectacular events we have seen.
During the first dive, we had manta rays, with a particular ray gliding over the group with a hover for a photo shot (Could there is a Manta Ray Instagram page were not aware about). Leopard sharks were yet again Mr reliable at the southern end of the Bommie; this could be a good reason why this dive site is so highly rated during the warmer months.
We also had turtles, bamboo sharks, bull rays, octopuses, octopi or octopods you can choose the plural terminology.
Such an awesome dive and I am already pumped for the next dive on the 13 January.

Caitlin did her SDI open water course last week with her partner James. I combine the refresher diver course with the open water course so if you're doing your diver course so you can dive with your love one or friend why not have them join you on your course.

Took a break from scuba diving last week and took some keen divers canyoning at Back creek. Back creek is about an hour drive from Brisbane city outside of Canungra.
This season has been full on with the manta rays and leopard sharks, with the leopard sharks owning the season so far with high numbers.
Anyway, enjoy and keep adventuring.

This somewhat sluggish leopard shark is not aggressive when approached under water and is generally considered to be harmless and a favourite with scuba divers. I took this picture with a cheap Gopro at Manta Bommie last Saturday but you can still see its cute little eye.
Diving Manta Bommie again on the 30th December and I still have a couple more spots.

Manta Bommie is well known for its interaction with the manta rays during the warmer months from October to April as manta rays come here as a cleaning station after their migration. These fascinating creatures have such a curious nature that it doesn’t take long before they start gliding amongst the divers.
Manta Bommie can be accessed from Stradbroke Island by boat at which time you will be on top of this pristine, secluded island within 10 minutes, or it is an hour’s boat ride from Brisbane. Don’t stress as this will give you ample time to gaze at the beauty of Stradbroke Island as you fly past with your new dive buddies. You never know this could be the start of something new and interesting.

I say good bye to Harry Cottrell this week he’s off to bigger and better adventures up North with a well know resort and dive centre. It was short lived for Harry working with Scuba Shane Diving but during that time some friends were made and every diver had only good remarks and reviews for the this instructor.
One door closes another open, I now have a position vacant for an instructor that would like to get some certifications under their belt and guide some social events. Not an SDI instructor do not sweat a simple conversion is all it takes.
