Ive been to all the grocery stores around harlem and foodtown seriously saved me the most money. Cashiers were friendly and managers were helpful. Meats, seafood, dairy, and veggies were all fresh. Plus they had avocados 5 for 5 bucks!! Definitely check it out!

Use all 5 senses before shopping there! Putting lipstick on a pig does not change things, it's still a pig. Proceed with extreme caution.

The produce and meat looked and smelled very fresh. The store itself felt like a smaller version of Fairway. The sales weren't immediately noticed until I signed up for a discount card (fairly easy process of writing down your name and phone). Before the discount I saved $1.25 but afterwards I saved roughly $7 bringing my bill down to $58 for 3 selections of meat, a bag of basmati rice, various produce, eggs, bread, cheese, and organic peanut butter and jelly. Speaking of which they had a surprisingly large selection of organic products even the beef I selected was "grass fed" trader Joe's but no trader Joe prices or inconveniences of getting there and back home either. I live in the Bronx and this store is perfectly located north, right off the 145th's 147th street exit (ABCD trains). Only 3 stops from me, I will be back!

This Foodtown deserves a better review. It has vastly improved over the past several years. They have an array of organic and gourmet foods. Granted, It's no Zabar's or Trader Joe's but as a local option in Harlem it's not bad. Plus, they even have refrigerated dog food, they carry organic chicken, vegetables, various Greek yogurts, soups, eggs, etc. They also have a good number sales. I believe they are making an effort to carry better quality foods so give them a try. I don't eat nonorganic produce so I don't get it here but for your immediate needs, it's not bad. And I try to buy local to help my neighborhood.

Not a lot of good sales. Your better off heading to Pathmark. Great for last minute items.

Foodtown just took over Metfood in Bellerose. They advertise prices in their window but the product is never available inside--sorry all sold out! Typical bait and switch.
