Caitlin E. Stoecker, hired as Minnesota State Community and Technical College’s development officer, brings fundraising and nonprofit experience to the position.

Stoecker will work under the lead of M State’s chief development and alumni officer, Denise Laymon, to develop and expand private financial support for the college and its students, and will be located on the Moorhead campus.

She joins the M State staff on Monday, August 28.

Since April 2012, Stoecker has been a member of the development department at The Village Family Service Center, headquartered in Fargo, ND, where she worked to raise financial and in-kind support with individual and corporate donors as a development officer. While there, she developed unique giving programs for corporate donors, helped plan and execute special events, and supported the annual giving efforts of the department. In April 2016, Stoecker transitioned into her role as a major gifts officer and development strategist, where she focused on working with major donors and departmental strategic planning. She assisted the development director as the development marketing specialist, serving as project manager for philanthropic communication efforts.

Prior to joining The Village Family Service Center, Stoecker was a development intern at the YWCA Cass Clay where she supported the development efforts of the organization by participating in strategic planning, assisting in the execution of special events, organized case management for both the executive director and associate executive directors, as well as supporting various annual giving efforts. Stoecker also has experience working in development in higher education, spending three years at the North Dakota State University Development Foundation’s Calls from Campus, where she worked one year as a student caller and two years as a student manager.

Her education includes a bachelor’s degree in management communication from North Dakota State University. Stoecker is scheduled to complete her master’s degree in communication this fall, also from NDSU, with emphasis in organizational communication.
