The City Council, at its February 18th meeting, approved the sale of $5.7 million in bonds. The $5.7 million would be sold in three separate issuance. The City's $2.15 debt levy rate would remain the same and would cover this issuance. The first issuance would be for $4.3 million in essential corporate purpose bonds. These bonds would pay for the costs of improvements to city parks, bridges, stormwater, streets and traffic signals.

The second issuance would be for $700,000 in general corporate purpose bonds. These bonds would pay for the cost of construction at Fire Station No. 42.

The third issuance would be for $700,000 in general corporate purpose bonds. These bonds would pay for improvements within the City trail system, improvements at the Library and the installation of public art.

The City Council has approved a request to amend the comprehensive plan and rezone from "A-1" to "P.U.D." the property at 14417 Hickman Road.  This amendment rezoned two parcels located adjacent to the north right-of-way of Hickman Road and west of 142nd Street.  The Terry property, known locally as 14417 Hickman Road, is 1.57 acres. The Eklund property, located adjacent to the east of the Terry property, is 0.23 acres. Both properties are remnant parcels acquired by their respective owners after the reconstruction of Hickman Road.

The rezoning of the two properties was proposed so they may be incorporated into the existing “The Reserve” Planned Unit Development.  Both parcels are proposed to be developed for commercial uses in the same manner as the adjoining portion of the existing PUD Master Plan.
