La Traviata, Dec 5th 2014 Didn't get this production at all. Looked more like a "run out" or rehearsal to me. No set worth talking about. The set such as it was consisted of two moving partitions, a collection of chairs from a 70's nightclub, 3 oval shaped tables (for what?) and a chandelier which presumably belonged to the Theatre. Did the Glyndebourne people forget to bring a set or do they think that just because we Irish are starved of decent Opera that we will put up with any old mush. To my mind good Opera should appeal to all the senses, not least of which is what one sees. The Glyndebourne cast looked like they decided last moment to head to Dublin and sing a few tunes. Next time please give your Dublin audience they respect the deserve and bring the set and the costumes. Opera tickets are not cheap. I dont expect Zefferelli but at these prices you have to do better. I enjoyed the singing, all the singing. It goes without saying that Violetta completely outshone Alfredo. A few other things, no announcements at all....very curious, what about advising the audience of the fire exits..? (did I arrive too late?) nobody telling us how many breaks, how long the breaks would be etc. I looked around for somebody selling programmes but gave up. The Surtitles sometimes didn't work at all and at other times were out of sync. Its the first time I have been disappointed by the Bord Gais Theatre. Did I read somewhere that it changed hands recently, maybe that would explain a few things. Overall, very disappointing.

With no doubts this is the best theater in Ireland. They have lots of good productions with at least half of the price you'd pay in London.

I've been there on 4 different shows: 'Cats', West Side Story', 'Fiddler on the roof' and 'The Mousetrap'. All of them were great and venue is nice. It's really worth booking early to get front seats.

A brilliant venue. Impressive layout and there isn't a bad seat in the place.

The theatre is amazing, great shows everything about it good. The reason it doesn't get 5 stars is due to the extortion 12 Euro parking charges ....and its not on regular bus routes from most areas in the city. The theatre really should do something with Q-park who manage the parking about this issue

Matthew Bourne's 'Swan Lake' I believe this has been one of the worst performances I have ever seen for modern dancing and 'ballet'. It is a pity to see that one of the greatest pieces of art has been undermined to such a degree by giving to the public tasteless storytelling. It is appalling that such a prestigious theatre would have not taken into consideration that this play is not meant to be for children and I would encourage this to be more regulated in the future.

I went to see Wicked today with my daughter Saoirse, excellent show.Saoirse is a wheelchair user and this is the 5th time we have been to see a show at the Grand Canal and I am delighted to say the staff have been fantastic on every occasion,The theatre is fully accessible, with decent bathroom facilities.I might sound like I'm gushing now,but I really have to praise the guys and gals that work there, they are extremely helpful and good natured in their work, which is a joy .A thoroughly enjoyable night out ,without the hassle of pre-promised facilities not being available,a definite 10 out of 10,well done all.
