4/30 edit: On March 1, 2015 they raised every sandwich by $1.50 (!) and seemingly skimped on the quality of sandwiches - I'm still a spicy tuna fan for flavor, but there was noticeably less tuna on the sandwich now. No longer such a great deal, IMO. -- The spicy tuna is my favorite. Reasonable prices for great food. Be on the lookout for Groupons for this place.

Convenient hole in the wall for that Vietnamese sandwich fix. The special is a safe pick. The people are nice, usually not much of a wait and despite a recent price increase they are somewhat reasonable.

The vegetarian Crispy Tofu sandwich is great. Get it with an avocado shake or a mango mint smoothie.

Holy moly if you miss traditional bang mi sandwiches this is the place to get your nostalgic fix. Always delicious. I love the mushroom bang mi, and tofu sandwich. You'll love it. A light summer sandwich packed with flavor. Try it!

The bahn mi punched me in the mouth with its freshness and intensity. And it was on a super tasty and crunchy French roll. I'd definitely go back for another!

A hidden gem, Dinosaurs offers delicious banh mi sandwiches, packing fresh, flavorful ingredients into a soft but crunchy french baguette for less than $6. I alternate between the grilled chicken and the shaking beef while my boyfriend always gets the spicy tuna. All three are excellent. The sandwiches come with jalapeño, but there's also a bonus help-yourself sriracha station for those who like a little extra oomph.

Love this tiny place! There are literally a few tables inside and a few outside. But, cannot beat the $5 sandwiches located blocks away from the heart of the Castro. Good way to fuel up before taking on the wonders of the Castro neighborhood!

Small place with a few tables outside for extra seating. The main entrance is on 16th not on Market. Decent pork and shrimp spring rolls. "The Special" banh mi is not that special but the Shaking Beef is really good. Good bread and fresh ingredients.
