[News!] We're Navy Bound! Plus: Studio upgrades and new quilt design!

Hello everyone! I hope you had a great week last week. We had a bit of a rollercoaster of a ride, let me tell you. As you might remember, my husband has been working on enlisting in the Navy.  On Wednesday, he was scheduled to go to the military…

Hello! I am terribly sorry for the lack of posts lately. My college classes started back up again three weeks ago and that, not-so-coincidentally, is about the last time I posted. Sorry! I have had no time to sew. None. Everytime I pass my sewing machine…

Welcome back! I’ve been hard at work all day on Red Hunter’s Star. I started out this morning with enough materials to put together four patches. Somewhere along the way, I ended up with enough for seven patches. Here’s a few photos of my progress thus…

Hello! I didn’t have a quilting post prepared for today since, here in the U.S. it’s Memorial Day. I wanted to take a moment to reflect on holiday, though.  I may not have mentioned this before, but I am a veteran of the Air Force. Having served, I…

Sorry for the delay! As some of you may know, I am attending college full time.  I’m going to school online so my courses are eight weeks long.  I’ve been absent from the blog this week because I am wrapping up this block of classes. I have been busy with…

So I might not have mentioned it but I’ve sold two quilts from my Etsy shop in the last two months. Woohoo! Marmalade Dream and one of the Ohio Star Baby quilts both found homes.  My other quilt, Spring Pinwheel is my only remaining quilt  in stock. I am…

Hello everyone! Now that Marmalade Dream is complete, I took it out for a photo shoot this afternoon in beautiful, historic downtown.  It was a bit overcast at times but I managed to get some excellent shots of the quilt.   After I returned home to edit…

Binding! http://wp.me/s3Bee8-binding

Welcome back! I thought I’d take a few minutes to plug one of my favorite tutorials.  I’ve seen a lot of people in various online forums say their least favorite part of quilting is the binding process.  I can certainly sympathize. I used to really…

Excellent customer service! I recently had my machine cleaned and repaired for, what I felt was, a very reasonable price. The machine was returned to me in exactly a week and runs beautifully (possibly even better than before). The shop gave me a reminder card and a coupon for service next year. Overall, I am very, very pleased with this and every experience I've had with the staff here. If your machine needs fixing, I recommend bringing it here.

Great Country Farms is a great experience for a family. We went to the farm today and my kids had so much fun. There's so much to see and do - plenty of animals, tons of activities and the produce is very reasonably priced. My kids loved the huge jumping pumpkin pillow, the mazes and the swings. They also had a blast watching P-Rex devour pumpkins. The U-pick field was really well marked and there was a fabulous selection of pumpkins for picking and they were 59 cents a pound. This is *well* worth the admission cost!
