My kids are loving their "gone fishin'" bin! We used the perler bead letters that we made earlier in the week to create an educational, sensory experience that can be set up in minutes!

Paint Recipe for Kids: Homemade Finger Paint

Do you ever worry about the ingredients that come in store-bought paint?

This is less of a concern now that my children no longer put everything they find in their mouths, but I thought about things like this when my kids were toddlers. Seeing the “non-toxic” label certainly helped, but it’s another thing to know that the ingredients in my art supplies are entirely edible.

This recipe uses just three basic ingredients: flour, water, and food coloring. Making a batch will give you peace of mind when your child dips his or her hands deep into this paint.

The children in KB were able to see the snow when it first began to fall. The snow inspired our art for that day. We did snow painting! We used black paper and white finger paint to create our very own winter wonderland. The morahs also used this as a time to discuss winter and snow. While the snow fell we talked about how it was falling from the sky and that it was cold and we would need our mittens and gloves to touch it! The smiles on their faces and the excitement in their voices was a clear indication that the children were certainly happy to see the show!
