Slow cooked meats paired with hearty sides & craft beers aplenty in a tiny, wood-beamed 1880s space.- Google
"Had the beef brisket with Mac n cheese."
"I recommend the Triple Threat Pork and waffle fries with cheese :d yum!"

I have always heard about Slows & always wanted to try it. Being a huge fan of bbq I decided to try the ribs its a bbq place cant go wrong with ribs. Wrong they dont bbq the food when it comes out it was just dry & very hard to pull apart no flavors either. The bbq sauces werent even all that great either, sweet baby rays bbq sauce tops all the sauces by 100%. The mac & cheese wasnt all that good also. Ive had mac & cheese out of the box better. I was so disappointed in this place. Even Famous Daves Bbq beats them by a land slide.

Went with a friend for lunch on Tuesday. Another patron luckily helped us find the door because it wasn't marked. We got inside only to see that no tables or seats at the bar were available. The place is surprisingly small.Spent $60 on two racks of ribs and four sides to go. My friend and I got our bills and she noticed the bartender screwed up her order and when she mentioned it, she got "the look" and he just walked away. Took almost 45 minutes to get our carry out. Got it home to find the sides were in ridiculously small one-cup containers which would barely feed one person. One of those tiny containers of potato salad was only half-full and was the crusted, tired, dried out, discolored portion of the potato salad that clearly sat uncovered in a fridge for days. The ribs had no seasoning and were black and dried out and definitely not fork tender as the menu advertised. The pork and beans side had an odd flavor and no sign of any pork to be found. This isn't authentic bbq in service or in taste and for the price, you'd be better off going somewhere else like the Union Woodshop in Clarkston instead.

Food is amazing, atmosphere is awesome. Area is sketchy and a bit questionable, the trip from the car to the front door seems like a gamble.

Food was as good as advertised. Brisket was obviously great but even suprised at how much I enjoyed the garlic sausages. They would easily have gotten a 5 but parked in back and myself and 30+ cars there got $45 parking tickets. No signs. Something obscure about "parking adjacent to a divided highway". Obviously the city of Detroit is desperate for money.

After years of reading about this place & seeing it on the Travel Channel i decided to go for lunch & was very disappointed. 1st this place is poorly lit and very dark in the inside. My food came out cold & rubbery as if it had been sitting for hours. I consider myself a gd griller seeing as how ive been BBQ'n since a kid. The brisket & macaroni were good but thats it. The ribs are tough and flavorless. Worst of all are the sauces all of them except the apple are nasty & the house special taste like salsa. There are great BBQ places in and around Detroit like Motor City Soul Food, Uptown, & Nikola's. This place doesn't even compare. If you think this is good BBQ then you have clearly never had any.

Ordinary. Very ordinary. I tried the brisket, pulled pork, sausage, with Mac and cheese and green beans. Brisket was better than many BBQs I've tried (nothing still comes close to TX BBQ from TX). Sausage was... Just sausage. I've had better freezer section kielbasas. And the pulled pork was horrendous I won't even go there. I will admit to liking their Mac and cheese though. Lots of BBQ joints love to brag about how good their Mac is and this one deserves to. The overall experience was ok. The place is too tiny for how popular it is; it's time to expand guys. Way too expensive for the quality of meat.

Best BBQ in town, no doubt! Slows has really spoilt me. Food here is beyond fantastic. I don't really like full, tight places, but I make an exception for Slows. Can't beat their brisket and BBQ ribs. Keep it up guys!

I came to this place for lunch during a work trip to Detroit. The entrance door to this place is hidden behind a wooden door that blends into the siding decor of the restaurant. After making my way into the restaurant I noticed every patron struggling to find the front door to this restaurant. As far as the food goes i order a half rack of baby back ribs with baked beans and mac and cheese. The sides were very good and nicely seasoned. The meat on the ribs weren't fall off the bone as described on the menu but nevertheless they tasted good. If i am ever in Detroit again I would come back to this place
