There's so much awesomeness to Universal Analytics. Here's a few highlights that cover the majority of questions I've gotten from clients & colleagues.

Some of these may seem like common sense, some may not. Regardless, some good reminders of simple tactics in friendly persuasion

It does not matter if you work or you don't work. It does not matter if you work in a office or work at home. It does not matter if you are an introvert or an extrovert. Almost all of the time, in small and big ways, you are trying to persuade another human being.

Hence if there is one skill you should get good at, it is probably getting better at the art of persuasion.

And in helping you get better at that, there are few people as engaging and, ahem, persuasive, as Dr. Robert Cialdini. It was so amazing to see him live.

Here's is a great 11 min video that does a great job of providing you with a hyper fast and valuable education on getting better at the science of persuasion.

#getbetter   #bepersuasive   #winwin

We may be relying on totally different data sources in the near future if this keeps up.

Want to report on your GA data - without sampling? Use Excel Pivot Tables to turn smaller unsampled data sets into something usable.

The end of keyword data has been coming for 2 years. SEER started moving away from keyword reporting well over a year ago, and fully on January 1. The sudden decrease in keyword data as secure search is expanded, should just force you to do what you should have already - stopped reporting on keyword data. Focus on landing pages, RCS, and meeting overall business goals with SEO marketing.

Every time I look at this map I see something new. Interesting how much more dense the concentration of population is on the west coast without as much suburb as there appears to be on the east coast. You can practically see the mountains, valleys, and water sources by the dot placements. And in the middle of the country the dots almost form roads. Such a cool use of data.
This is a map of every person counted by the 2010 US and 2011 Canadian censuses. The map has 341,817,095 dots - one for each person.
