The Earthdawn Fourth Edition Players Guide is now available (fanfare). The hardcopy books will follow the PDF, based on our printer's delivery schedule.
FASA Games Online Shop : FASA Games, Inc. Earthdawn Player's Guide (ED4) [PDF] [FAS14101P] - The Age of LegendAn age of magic once existed in our world. Lost to history, this time is remembered in the echoes of myth and legend. Humans lived alongside the other Namegiver races—dwarf and elf, troll and ork, windling, t’skrang and obsidiman. The wild places of the world were home

Good discussion about spear and shield techniques. I shared a few things on facebook recently that fit with the conversation. Here's a wicker buckler from Sumatra (& a Turkish one), as an example of that construction style:

And an Escrima master showing the sliding grip underhanded.

New, and somewhat late, #Earthdawn  post is up. This is another very in-depth look at a spell list in fourth edition with a great deal of insights from "behind the curtain". I really cannot stress how long these take to put together. So. Many. Words. Let me know if it is worth it.

A short summary of the recent project update for Earthdawn 4th Edition.
A little less than a dozen pieces of art are missing. The PDF should be released by the end of January. Once the electronic version is out, FASA will give it a week to cover some additional bugs, typos etc. Then it will be sent to the printers. The print version should be available in February.

New #Earthdawn  post looking at Illusionist spells in 4E. These were some of the most fun and most difficult spells to write.

Story
Introduction
A passion for Art and Games drives me. I have been trained in high-end and game 3D and CG skillsets, including:
  • Lighting Artist (lighting and texturing with Maya, mental ray, and UDK)

  • Environment Artist (concept art, building, and rendering photorealistic and game environments)

  • Technical Artist (including particle effects, rendering GIS landscape data, coding and scripting for tools - MapTool, Maya and UDK).
While these are my 3D areas of focus, I also have experience with Modeling, Animating, Composition, and Level Design.

I try to balance these studies with time spent with my wonderful family and my other interests: my Martial Arts studies (Aikido, Kali Escrima, Pranayama), continuing to acquire cooking skills (I make a mean Teriyaki Chicken Burger - Kona Style), and staying balanced and playful in this present Moment (something a family full of surfers and scuba-divers teaches you).

Education
  • The Art Institute of Portland
Video Game Art & Design, 2009 - present
