This seems pretty cool, but what I'm really interested in is a trimmed down version of this with "just" the camera.  I'd like be able to wear it on all my rides and record the video in case of any encounters with dumb ass drivers.  A version like that would cut the cost down as well as make it lighter.

It does have a clear looks advantage over the current google glass. Time for google to partner up with Oakley and the likes to not only be geeky but also cool.

+Jason Kotz I hope so because the incentive to improve only comes with having competition... Its true that I dont know how much abuse google glass will be able to handle since I dont own one yet (July 6th :)) but they have shown videos of football players wearing them, athletes, hikers etc.

I know there will be a certain amount of devs working on the jet but the open source concept google relies on has made it so you essentially have an army of developers coding, improving and innovating.

I guess only the future will tell us how this will go as it is hard to estimate right now...it will really mess their profits though if google relases a public version at 399 for example and the google version is rugged enough to be used for everything the jet is but allows you to wear in every day use...you can see how that would really affect sales of the jet and potentially lead to bankruptcy..they arent apple..they wont be able to handle a large hit like that... (not that I like Apple..i do not...I just know they can deal with big issues..like the map issue..didnt even dent the company profits...)

Awesome demo of +Recon Instruments tech. According to +Engadget, Recon's display doesn't lag like Google Glass does for streaming video.
Smart-weapon company TrackingPoint seems pretty intent to make real-world guns act like the virtual firearms we use for offing video game villains. The

The maker of heads-up displays for ski goggles unveils sunglasses with a tiny computer monitor at Google's developers conference. But they don't use Google Glass tech. Read this article by Jay Greene on CNET News.
