Did you ever think a saint could do such a thing? Chalk this up as one of the more interesting “Lives of the Saints” stories you’ll ever read!
Some saints, while they were still living, had other saints appear to them from heaven to offer encouragement (for example, St. Therese of Lisieux appeared to St. Faustina). Some also had the Devil appear and physically attack them (for example, St. Padre Pio). But it’s not too common that a saint f

Today is the #feastday of the Presentation of the Lord, or the Feast of the Purification of the Virgin Mary (also called Candlemas - the final day of the Christmas season). It is based on the Scripture passage in Luke 2:22-40 where the Holy Family journeys to Jerusalem 40 days after the birth of Jesus to offer sacrifice to the God in the temple. Mary completes the ritual purification required of women after childbirth, and to offer the sacrifice for the redemption of the firstborn as required by the Law of Moses. The Holy Family made the offering of two turtledoves, the offering allowed to the poor instead of a whole lamb.

During their time in the temple, Simeon gives his famous prophecy about Christ being the cause of the "fall and rise of many in Israel." He also spoke about a sword piercing Mary's heart, a prophecy of her son's Passion and death. The Prophetess Anna also spoke about Christ as the Redeemer of Jerusalem. This event is commemorated in the 4th Joyful Mystery of the Rosary, and Pope St. John Paul II made this feast the World Day for Consecrated Life.
