The Temptation to Fast-Forward

I have faith: Faith that a new client is on the horizon, that we will find our next home, and that this evening the temperature outside will drop and cool our house.

Part of me wants to fast-forward -- to hurry up to this evening when it is cooler, to signing the lease, to beginning a new co-creative relationship.

I must remember that to fast-forward is to miss out on everything else -- to miss the point. Life is in the living and the experiencing and time-and-time again, when I stay present to now, even when now is hot, sticky and a little uncertain, I get surprised by receiving that which I never knew I wanted or needed.

I hold onto my goals, but only with one hand. The other hand I leave open to receive the gifts of the present.
