A few shots from the Thursday Night Throwdown in Boston last night. Forgive the horrible focus from the camera!

We're so close to our goal of 700! We've got until Monday so help us get over the hump by sharing and spreading the word. We look forward to giving away a Bonavita Brewer!

Making Good Coffee on a Tight Budget

Someone had asked about making good coffee with a tight budget, so we chimed in with our thoughts. I decided to post our response to them up here for everyone:

To get started, You can get a Clever Dripper, a hand-mill burr grinder, and a 100 pack of filters for $45.

Secondly, buy your own coffee and buy it whole bean. Now to do some math on money you'll save buying whole bean coffee: $16 for a 12 oz (.75lb or 340g) bag of coffee is about what you can expect to pay for good coffee.

Since we normally weigh out our coffee I'll break it down in grams. One 12 oz (355mL) cup of coffee takes about 22 grams of coffee. That means that you'll be getting 15 cups of coffee out of that 12 oz bag of whole bean coffee. Total per cup cost: $1.07.

Check out this video on how we make our Cavendish Series espresso tampers.

Since each tamper is unique, we only have a few available at a time. See our current selection here:
