A case for reading the middle book in trilogies first
I have been experimenting lately with reading the middle books in a trilogy before the first and the third and I have been impressed with how much better the experience turns out. I haven't been able to figure out why this works better but I have a few gues...

The Moments Between || Lake Wanaka

On the edge of Lake Wanaka, there stands a lone tree that grows just off the rocky shore. Over the years, I’ve seen dozens of phenomenal photographs of this location but now having experienced it in person, even the best photos seem to pale in comparison to actually being there. The quality of color and light when the sun rises here is simply exquisite, and even setting aside all things related to photography, I’m just happy I had the chance to start the day in this beautiful place.

So with that, even though I’m sad to say that another visit to New Zealand is coming to an end today, I’m very happy that Naomi and I were able to explore and photograph a few new and beautiful locations. Thanks again New Zealand. Once again It’s was a pleasure to be here.

Good read

Why I support China’s ‘scam’ Frankenstein iPhones.

The Telegraph newspaper brought to light this week an apparently widespread practice in China in which broken old iPhones are stripped for parts, and functioning iPhones are build with those parts.

The newspaper called it a “scam,” because the sellers of such phones often lie and say they’re new. And in fact that is a scam.

But I call the general idea of a large-scale refurb effort one of the best ways to improve the environmental impact of a dangerously irresponsible industry.
