The prime rib done medium rare was everything it should be. $50.

The reviews seem all over the map, but really, this is a second (or third rate) steak joint, no better than Applebees (yikes) with premium prices ($53 just for the meat). My ribeye was an inferior piece of meat; lots of gristle and tough seasoned with salt. And why to they brag about it being corn fed. Clearly not the choice of any beef lover. The waiter upsold me from a Delmonico to the ribeye because "the bone adds flavor." The little piece of bone added nothing. And who needs a 24 oz. piece of meat anyway? Drinks were fine; wine list was ridiculous. Three times too expensive for mediocre wine. Clams Casino were a lazy man's version. Slap a piece of bacon on top of a little neck. I have eaten here before and was looking forward to this dinner with an old friend. Never again. When I stated a slight disappointment to the waiter, he just got defensive and brushed us off. With so many wonderful places to eat; don't waste your time on this one.

Best place to eat in Boston. Ate here many times and I can't fault it. Had my anniversary dinner here after the Bruins lost, great way to restore pride. Try the Tomahawk steak, its a monster.

Not even a real steakhouse. Abe and Louie's is owned by a restaurant group, not a chef and the menu is dated and kinda lousy. The food quality is typical industrially produced swill. The steaks are air-aged, corn-fattened beef. Whatever. That means that they are supermarket-quality beef that is dry-aged differently than supermarket beef, which is usually wet-aged in a sealed plastic bag. It's clientele are people whose idea of sophistication is meat and an iceberg wedge salad, and like to flaunt that they can afford to eat at an overpriced pit like Abe and Louie's. On top of that, the bartender Michele made no bones about how much she hates Jews. I was at the bar with friends and some skinhead types were on an antisemitic rant about how Jews run the world and can be blamed for everything. I'm not even Jewish and was really offended, and told them so. But Michele defended them and said she totally agreed with what they were saying. I can forgive the overcooked pasta in the mac n' cheese and the cornfed, supermarket beef with the fancy name and even the lack of imagination (an iceberg wedge salad...c'mon), but the hate? No thanks you very, very much.

On a recent visit to Boston this summer, I had brunch at Abe and Louie's ... Wait staff was responsive and attentive. Keeping it simple, I went with pancakes and the fresh summer fruit salad ... The pancakes were rubbery and the fruit salad lacked flavor ... Certain if the fruit had not properly ripened and others were too ripe. Oh and the
