Back in 2017 I met up with Wiltshire Man. It's a trip I still value to this day. Before heading off though I did what I always do and that is I left with the right frame of mind by leaving everything clean and ready for the off upon my return. This is about respect for the people we meet outdoors.

Brilliant little permaculture festival on the border of Herefordshire and Wales - Wye catchment. Old Apple Tree. Filmed by Peter Lawrence formerly of the Big Chill. Great film. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1ND-BpmhlU

SWIMMING LOSS. Tragic loss of one of GB's great talents in Tazmin Pugh. Only 18 lost in a fire. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGltyX9Z66I

Out in the Cambrian Mountains for Part 2 of the Wild Elan Way. In Part 1 I walked the River Elan in the Cambrian Mountains from source through to Craig Goch Reservoir and the Lluest Cwmbach bothy but not before meeting good farming folk and fisherman. Here in Part 2 we meet up with bothy goers and even Bothy Association who are having an annual general meeting at Lluest Cwmbach bothy. Later we connect with a great bunch of Mountain Bikers from Shrewsbury Cycles who are great fun. It turns out to be an amazing hike with views to inspire before reaching it's confluence with the Wye below Rhayader. So join me on this memorable hike, bothy and wild camp on the River Elan.

Join me as I hike the River Elan from source through to the Elan Valley. With a good 6-7 KM on top it proves to be another fabulous wild hike in this the Wild Elan Way P1 in the Cambrian Mountains. I wild camp, meet local farmers-locals, enjoy spectacular views and commune with the river that the Elan Valley takes its name from. In true Wye Explorer style it's a very quick 35 minutes.

Walking along the River Lugg today (Wue Tributary) I came across this incredible Goshawk. The owner Phil or handler was a nice chap only to willing to talk about this magnificent raptor. I'm certain you'll enjoy this short clip.
