Here's my casting thing that I write every week and you read ONLY WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE IT?!? NEVER??!!! Anyway, Natalie Portman has Ruth Bader Ginsburg and possibly the adaptation of ANNIHILATION (Southern Reach Trilogy) on tap (anyone read that? how is it?) Anne Hathaway also has a science fiction thing for Nacho Vigalondo (TIMECRIMES) and Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga are gonna play Mildred and Richard Loving for Jeff Nichols, and Rebecca Hall is going to play the tragic Christine Chubbuck for Antonio Campos, whose AFTERSCHOOL I really liked. And more...

This is from two weeks ago, but hey, maybe you missed it? I know I did. Anyway, Julianne Moore working with Nicole Holofcener, Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone circling Damien Chazelle's new one. And more.

My interview with Nick Broomfield on his new documentary, TALES OF THE GRIM SLEEPER, airing on HBO tonight:
Nick Broomfield's new documentary, Tales of the Grim Sleeper, tells a shocking and lurid story. Lonnie Franklin Jr. is said by the LAPD to have murdered at least 10 women over a 22-year period, but there's evidence to suggest he killed many more. Most of them appear to have been prostitutes and drug addicts.

Hey, here's that casting thing I write. Some interesting actor-director pairings here, with Shia LaBeouf working with the great Andrea Arnold, and Brie Larson in Ben Wheatley's new one. Plus, more things!

Just for the hell of it, here's my casting news thing from last week, which got kind of lost in the re-design of the site. Kerry Washington as Anita Hill, Harvey Keitel in Brazil (the country), some other stuff. A couple dumb jokes you might enjoy. Also, lots of missing apostrophes due to HTML coding issues. Enjoy!

So here's my casting thing, with Will Ferrell playing baseball, Elizabeth Banks and Paul Giamatti playing tennis (as Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs), Octavia Spencer playing God, my favorite BROAD CITY cast member, Hannibal Buress, getting his own show, Michael Kenneth Williams, Miles Teller robbing banks, and so much more.

Casting news: I made fun of Kevin James, etc. Also, Martin Freeman, Louis C.K., James Franco, Cary Fukunaga's Pennywise, so much more. Has anyone read ROBBERS or THE LONG HOME? They sound like books I might enjoy.

Hey look they turned my casting thing into one of those super-cool slideshows the kids all love. Steve Carell in an adaptation of Michael Lewis's THE BIG SHORT, in a narrative adaptation of the great MARWECOL, and one of three actors recently cast as Bobby Riggs. Plus other stuff.
BY: JOSH RALSKE, ORIGINAL. A Big Cast for The Big Short. Hollywood adaptations of Michael Lewis' nonfiction works have been Oscar-nominated hits, deservedly (Bennett Miller's solid take on Moneyball) and not so much (as anyone who's read The Blind Side knows), but will audiences flock to see a ...

My interview with David Robert Mitchell and Maika Monroe, the director and star, respectively, of IT FOLLOWS:
This is a guest post by Josh Ralske. In 2010, writer-director David Robert Mitchell made his feature directorial debut with the charming and insightful The Myth of the American Sleepover. Unlike many contemporary coming-of-age comedies, Sleepover evinces nostalgia for youth, but shows tremendous ...

Hi, happy baseball day, everyone. Here's my casting thing. Apparently, Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig were so upset about news of that Lifetime movie being leaked, they decided not to do it. But I'm saying they already shot it? I dunno. I don't get it. Plus, more stuff. Ansel Elgort in Edgar Wright's new thing. More?
