I've been looking forward to trying this restaurant for months (visiting from Michigan) and it did not disappoint. I was overwhelmed by the options as everything sounded great. I am a vegetarian so I greatly enjoy a restaurant where I can have everything. I tried the Rebel this time, and the ginger sauce was great. The vegetables were fresh and superb. Delicious food, quick preparation time. The decor was bright and exciting. I brought my brother who is a fan of meat and even he enjoyed the Romantic. I sampled my girlfriend's the Fool and greatly enjoyed that as well. If I lived closer I would frequent this restaurant more often. Reasonable prices for great food.

A really creative menu showcasing healthy and delectable items. We only got to go once during our stay in Salem but I could definitely see myself eating here weekly given the chance. I really liked that you could see the fresh stock of vegetables that they use to prepare your meals. It doesn't get any fresher than that, and the food has good flavor.

I admit being skeptical when I read the menu at life alive. There were a lot of ingredients I had never heard of before, and everything contained at least one vegetable I don't really like. I am not the kind of person who usually enjoys health-food restaurants. However, the food preparation and above all the sauces they use are so phenomenal that I actually left with some new favorite vegetables! I tried The Emporer with vegan Daiya Cheese - a sort of Asian influenced rice bowl with stir fried vegetables and Miso sauce - and it converted me to loving brown rice and kale, both of which I didn't really like before. My fiance has never voluntarily eaten a cooked vegetable in the many years I've known him. He ordered The Innocent - a vegan cheesy meal, though he went with Udon noodles instead of rice - and I watched him happily eat broccoli, carrots, and corn for the first time ever. I would also highly recommend the Coconut Alive smoothie (quite thick and rich) and the Loco Coco Alive smoothie (on the sweet side, but not overpowering).

Get an organic salad, wrap, wheatgrass shot or smoothie here. People who work here are really friendly. It's been a huge hit with local Salem residents. It's a great place to grab a bite after a workout at the Salem Y

I am not vegan, hell man, I'm not even vegetarian. Any good meal can be made better with a pork chop. BUT, this place is pretty awesome. Great service, nice atmosphere, and really good food. The issue that I generally have with this type of restaurant is that they try SO hard to conform to the stereotype that the the food is horrible. But not so here. If you're not sure what to get, order "the Swami", excellent.

Great smoothies, juices, and lunch bowls. Good for a healthy change.
