Okay, here's the thing, I've been to the Duluth location of the Melting Pot quite a few times, and have always had a nice experience both on a romantic occasion, or w/ the kids for something different & fun. But one of the best things I can say about this restaurant is how they treated me when I won a free dinner for 2. I have a close friend whose husband had recently passed away in a tragic event, and my heart immediately thought of wanting to gift these free dinners to her. I was told initially by corporate that it wouldn't be possible to do this. After speaking w/ the manager at the Duluth location, however, he made it all happen including allowing me to pay ahead for gratuity so my friend wouldn't even need to worry about that part of the meal which wasn't included. I think his name was Nick. He was just so understanding about what I wanted to do and wanted to help me make it a nice evening out for my friend to forget her worries for a night. My friend had a wonderful dinner & was so appreciative. Thank u Melting Pot!

Terrible service right at the door, This review is for the fact that they lied both on the phone as well as hostess and someone who apparently was a server. If you choose and pick who you want to dine in your restaurant than you probably lost more than you would imagine. Wanted to make sure I would never go to them. Why pay these guys gratuities when they lack what give them the money rather than the food. That belongs to the cooks , stashed in the back rooms sweating.. Ridiculous! Will never come back to this location. I would rate it zero but cant!

This is a cool little place to take someone on a first date. This location is not in the best place but it is still nice nonetheless. Its really quiet and not too much noise so you are able to have a conversation without having to holler. Our server the asian chick Kristina was very pleasant. She talks really fast but she's so nice and sweet nonetheless. Even the manager is very cool. I was late for my reservation but he still accommodated us. He came by to check on us and made sure everything was okay. The food is delicious and there is a great selection of choice. However, there salads are skimpy and the spinach artichoke cheese fondue I had was a tad bland. They can be expensive but often have specials. I would recommend them and will definitely be returning in the future.

After seeing a few bad (and really old) reviews, felt the need to add my own. We always receive excellent food and service. Every time I've eaten here the manager comes by the check on each table. Food is always absolutely perfect. It is pricey, but well worth it. And the Appetite Stimulus is a great deal! I'd highly recommend it.

[Location/Ambiance]: The restaurant was dimly lit for dinner time. With lots of wood used through out the restaurant and booths. I think it gives it a home-y, warm kind of vibe. A place to sit, enjoy the company with you on a special meal like this. There are pretty big sized booths in the center of the restaurant with decent high walls, though the "bridge" connecting to the other side of the dining room was quite cramped. I applaud the servers carrying all the little plates and food items on one big tray, as there's much to set up for each course. [Service]: Our server, was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (spell check?) ...AWESOME!!! Sara, just had a warm, welcoming friendly aura. There's quite a few servers who can handle the hectic-ness of a large group and just have genuine smile. Every request was catered to, though we really didn't have to ask for much. She was always on the ball. I also felt that every recommendation we tried, and I believe Richard R also felt, that she did not steer us wrong on the choices. She was even patiently, willing to hand model some of the seasonings and sauces for us to take pics while she explained them. Again, how many servers are cool like that? [Food highlights] Spinach Artichoke Cheese fondue (appetizer) -. I think the bread was very filling, so we slowed up on that. I'm not a fan of apples with cheese, so we just ate those by themselves. I was busy taking pics so didn't really try any veggies. I did like the tortilla chips; props to anyone who got that with the "fork", in and out of the fondue! I think our table liked this choice by Sara's recommendation. Coq Au Vin (entree) - This didn't wow me as far as flavor goes I think. Also since we aren't really sipping the broth, but the "au jus" of the protein after being cooked in it. I honestly can just say it's good and leave it at that. The the Land and Sea combo isn't very filling. White chocolate creme brulee (dessert) - Wowwie, just watching this thing getting lit up was a show it self. Very rich when dipped with certain choices, like rice crispy treats but balanced with strawberries.

Appetizers and entrees are good, but dessert fondue is incredible. Food takesa while to come out though, so be prepared to be there a while

My daughter has been asking us to take her to The Melting Pot for a long time, and we decided it would make a special treat for her birthday! She really enjoyed the whole experience. Our server made her feel special, and the manager came by each table personally to be sure everything was good. I've seen that before at this location, and have always been impressed by that, but this manager was getting refills for customers and assisting the waitstaff too. Not that our server wasn't doing a great job, & it wasn't super-busy but it's impressive to see a manager be so hands-on to ensure excellent service for the guests so that we didn't have to wait for anything. We decided to go with the 3 courses, skipping the cheese course and opting for the salad, entree, and dessert. It was just the right amount for the family, and the kids weren't too full before the chocolate fondue course (which is the highlight, let's be honest, LOL!) Both kids finished their salads. We had the S'mores fondue this time, the birthday girls' choice, and it was yummy. Really want to try something I spotted on the menu, the Creme Brulee. I think it was made w/ white chocolate. Will have to come back for date night w/ my husband soon for that! It was a nice touch for the server to bring our daughter some chocolate-covered strawberries at the end of our meal. Probably my favorite visit to The Melting Pot so far.

I've been a customer of The Melting Pot for 15-20 years and never had an issue. My experience yesterday was so awful I had to let someone know. I dined with The Melting Pot in Duluth at 4pm on 7/13/14. My server brought me a dirty plate and fondue forks, my chicken had a very bad taste to it and had a dark almost brown color and the all of the fruit seemed to be old and not fresh. My mother also stated her chicken had a bad taste but was not turning brown. Neither one of us ate the chicken with the exception of 1 piece. I over heard the server professionally advised the manager. The manager didn't seem to care and never spoke to us to apologize or find out anything. Nothing was substituted or offered. I am very unhappy with my experience. This location has gone down hill.
