My husband and I visited the Duluth location for my birthday in 2014. It was a very enjoyable experience! I received a birthday card signed by all the employees and the customer service was outstanding. Our server was very helpful with the menu options, which was great especially since my husband is gluten free. The food was excellent, especially the cheese and chocolate fondues! And the cocktails we had were delicious. I would recommend The Melting Pot in a heartbeat, especially for special occasions. Great place! We haven't had the opportunity to return yet, but haven't forgotten about it - hoping to make it for our second anniversary this summer!

I'll start by saying my review did not come from the service. We had a pretty terrible experience with regards to our meal. However, the way it was handled more than made up for it and earned a stellar review. Not only was a good part of our meal comped, but we were all also given generous gift cards. It's a brilliant way to ensure that we will give the restaurant another chance. The best part? We never made a complaint to a staff member. The owner or manager saw that we were unsatisfied and took care of us in a way that none of us expected. Despite the less than perfect night, we will absolutely give them another chance.

Dinner at The Melting Pot was delicious and the service was top notch. Sarah not only did a great job of making me feel special for my birthday but she was very attentive to my partner's food allergies. She took the list of allergies very seriously and was extremely conscious of cross contamination. The rest of the friendly staff rounded a wonderful night out perfectly.

[Location/Ambiance]: The restaurant was dimly lit for dinner time. With lots of wood used through out the restaurant and booths. I think it gives it a home-y, warm kind of vibe. A place to sit, enjoy the company with you on a special meal like this. There are pretty big sized booths in the center of the restaurant with decent high walls, though the "bridge" connecting to the other side of the dining room was quite cramped. I applaud the servers carrying all the little plates and food items on one big tray, as there's much to set up for each course. [Service]: Our server, was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (spell check?) ...AWESOME!!! Sara, just had a warm, welcoming friendly aura. There's quite a few servers who can handle the hectic-ness of a large group and just have genuine smile. Every request was catered to, though we really didn't have to ask for much. She was always on the ball. I also felt that every recommendation we tried, and I believe Richard R also felt, that she did not steer us wrong on the choices. She was even patiently, willing to hand model some of the seasonings and sauces for us to take pics while she explained them. Again, how many servers are cool like that? [Food highlights] Spinach Artichoke Cheese fondue (appetizer) -. I think the bread was very filling, so we slowed up on that. I'm not a fan of apples with cheese, so we just ate those by themselves. I was busy taking pics so didn't really try any veggies. I did like the tortilla chips; props to anyone who got that with the "fork", in and out of the fondue! I think our table liked this choice by Sara's recommendation. Coq Au Vin (entree) - This didn't wow me as far as flavor goes I think. Also since we aren't really sipping the broth, but the "au jus" of the protein after being cooked in it. I honestly can just say it's good and leave it at that. The the Land and Sea combo isn't very filling. White chocolate creme brulee (dessert) - Wowwie, just watching this thing getting lit up was a show it self. Very rich when dipped with certain choices, like rice crispy treats but balanced with strawberries.

On 1/17/16 , wrost exeperiance ever . Had tables avaliable but according to person who was in charge for setting arrangment told server " they are not setting now , they can wait till the time i told them. Again half tables are empty ! As we walked in , we were asked did you call ahead . No we did not ! So whole conversation after was just trying to push people out . Family of 4 came in , told them they full ( half of the retsturant is empty ) notice during two trips inside the resturant ! That was time i heard " they going to wait , i am not setting them now " Suggestion : if you don't want serve close the restaurant. It is very simple.

Have been going to melting pot for years, will be sticking to the midtown location... Cheese and chocolate was very soupy and had very little for the dippers and had to ask for more. Service downtown is also much better, where the servers and manager are much more attentive. Overall it was just not up to par with other locations.

The food is delicious! And for that, I will give them 3 stars. However, they care more about LOOKING fancy than actually being so. Prices are outrageous (fancy?) but my fork was bent (not fancy). I overheard employees say that "a glass of wine should pay for the bottle". Does that mean my $10 glass came from a $10 bottle?

Okay, here's the thing, I've been to the Duluth location of the Melting Pot quite a few times, and have always had a nice experience both on a romantic occasion, or w/ the kids for something different & fun. But one of the best things I can say about this restaurant is how they treated me when I won a free dinner for 2. I have a close friend whose husband had recently passed away in a tragic event, and my heart immediately thought of wanting to gift these free dinners to her. I was told initially by corporate that it wouldn't be possible to do this. After speaking w/ the manager at the Duluth location, however, he made it all happen including allowing me to pay ahead for gratuity so my friend wouldn't even need to worry about that part of the meal which wasn't included. I think his name was Nick. He was just so understanding about what I wanted to do and wanted to help me make it a nice evening out for my friend to forget her worries for a night. My friend had a wonderful dinner & was so appreciative. Thank u Melting Pot!
