Climate change has serious consequences for Australia’s agricultural production, and our farmers are already struggling to cope with more frequent and intense droughts and changing weather patterns.

If you're at all interested in global politics and more specifically what is going on in Syria, for goodness sake take some time out of your day / week and read this very important article at Salon:

http://www.salon.com/2015/10/06/thomas_friedman_read_your_chomsky_the_new_york_times_gets_putinobama_all_wrong_again/
"Do you realize now what you've done?" The best question about our Middle East disasters actually comes from Putin

Earlier this month, millions of gamers around the world cried out in joy, and were suddenly silenced as the Star Wars Battlefront (a video game for PC, Xbox One and PS4) beta came and went.

As The Force re-franchises for a new generation of potential Jedis, Good Game's Bajo and Hex dissect their first play of the game.

Go to Phobos before landing on Mars itself?  I have pushed this idea for twenty years and now some at NASA agree.  Not only is the larger moon far easier to reach and serve as an ideal research platform, it also has two advantages never mentioned in this article.  It can serve as a logistics hum where supplies can be pre-positioned and tended without complex orbital management.  It also might (some figure) be carbonaceous chondritic material, containing volatiles like water.  If these could be mined and stored and prepared, subsequent Mars landing missions would find all the water and rocket fuel they need, lowering both cost and risk by an order of magnitude.  http://www.popularmechanics.com/space/moon-mars/a17552/phobos-landing/
Rather than an expensive Apollo 8-style flyby or an audacious out-the-gates landing, NASA is mulling landing on the rocky, tiny moon first.

Just had lunch there, it was a pasta - pumpkin and sun dried tomatoes. In short: Absolutely disgusting. I've never eaten a worse pasta in my life. It was swimming in a gluggy mess of olive oil overcooked pumpkin and little to no sun dried tomatoes. There was literally a centimeter of oil in the bottom of the bowl (no wonder they don't serve it with in a plate...) Such was the poor quality of the food it made me sick an hour later. I'll never go back again.
