Will not go back. The food was terrible. Out of the 4 of us (2 adults and 2 kids), over half of the food we ordered was not eaten - and no one wanted to take it home!!! I enjoyed the service and presentation, but the food was terrible and overpriced. (mainly because it was bland) When I go out, I want a dinner that I can't make at home. I could have went back and cooked better than them! My husband ordered the Cajun chicken pasta. Way too much Cajun. And the sauce was pretty bland. One of the boys ordered catfish and coleslaw. Huge coleslaw fans at my house, and neither one ate the side they ordered. NOT GOOD. The other boy ordered country fried steak. I had trouble cutting it with my knife. The bottom was burnt and it was tough to eat, even soaking it in the bland brown gravy. (we assumed it would have white gravy, but didn't) He tried to put some salt and pepper on it, but still didn't help. They give you complimentary corn bread, which looked amazing and it was warm, and they gave you honey with it! YUM... except... NO. It was NOT yum. Very dry and NO flavor at all! I really didn't enjoy this place at all. Definitely not a "DO AGAIN"

This is my go to restaurant in the Omaha area. I love the quirkiness am the service is usually pretty good. The food is great and the price makes if the best value in restaurant. I have yet to have a bad meal.

I went to a wedding reception hosted by Dixie Quicks and tried the pork chilaquiles, the quesadillas, and crab cakes. Everything was fresh and delicious, and it's not every day I make it to a spot that has chilaquiles on the menu. The service did a solid job of keeping our orders straight, and the spot has great atmosphere with old clippings under glass on the tabletops and a signature chalkboard menu. Try a Dixie brand beer, a New Orleans beer that drinks a lot like Grain Belt Premium.

It's been a few years since I've eaten here, but the food was very good and service was excellent. The move to the new location has put it too far away to frequent and is no longer my Sunday morning decompress spot. I prefer the old location, but do wish them well. Food = good, Location = bad

OK, seriously I've been a huge fan of Dixie Quicks from the moment they moved to Council Bluffs! Their food has always been amazing and most of the time their service was too! Every time anyone came in from out of town I would make sure they ate at this amazing local establishment! Then came tonight. My friend and I went in and were seated quickly and immediately served water. Then we sat there talking, decided what we wanted to drink and eat and continued talking for a good 10 minutes (felt like more but we will give the benefit of the doubt) and no one came to take a drink order or anything. Finally we started looking around and the waiter finally came over. He said the reason he didn't come over sooner was because we were talking...really? Um yeah, we are having girls night of course we were talking! OK so I wasn't super nice. In fact I was down right sarcastic ... with a smile of course. :) So he took our drink order but didn't even ask if we were ready to order food. He finally came back with our drinks and took our food order. When I got my food (something I've ordered a bunch of times there and loved) it did not taste right. I sent it back and the waiter went went over and tasted it and came back and said "it tasted fine to me," to which I responded rather meanly "well its my taste buds that matter not yours". He said very rudely "well Actually they do because I'm the chef". I responded by walking out. He then chased me out and insisted I pay for the drinks we drank half of. I gave him a 20 dollar bill for an $18 tab and endured comments about how rude I am as I walked very quickly away from him. Now I don't know what to do because I fear taking people there and having this kind of experience again. I don't want to say I won't be back but after tonight I just don't know.

Has been one of my top choices in this area for many years. The menu is consistently excellent and I've never been disappointed. I have some idea what I'm talking about as I'm a regular "eat-out" kind of guy. The service is always friendly and knowledgeable and Rene is a top notch chef.
