Warning long but I cover the story.... Called bobs out for no heater operation at my grandmothers. They spend a little time and diagnose a bad blower motor. The tech quotes 840 to replace it. I get the call from a frantic mother in law and grandmother. I ask the tech if he can split it up in two payments. He calls the boss comes back and says they cant do that but they can drop a 100 off the bill. I think to myself, wow that is really generous of them. Its still not possiable as she is on a ssi budget. Bobs is paid 80ish for thier time. I go and purchase what the estimate says was needed. I paid 129.I look it up on the net to see G.E has a suggested retail of 89.99. Took me an hour replace. Lets just say they quoted highway robbery of 250 for the motor, 500 in labor? But it doesnt end there. It still didnt work. I spent some time with someone more understanding of the system and with thier 20 minutes if help over the phone we traced it down to a bad safety heating switch. If the temp goes to high in the chamber it shuts ... Called bobs out for no heater operation at my grandmothers. They spend a little time and diagnose a bad blower motor. But it doesnt end there. It still didnt work. I spent some time with someone more understanding of the system and with thier 20 minutes if help over the phone we traced it down to a bad safety heating switch. If the temp goes to high in the chamber it shuts everything down to prevent a fire. I found that switch for $20. Everything works. I had the motor tested, came back good. Called bob back himself. Explained it all, he stated that the motor could test good with no load on it out on a bench. I explained I took the time to put it back in to confirm that theory and it worked fine. He explained it wouldnt for long as it tested bad. I just requested the diagnosis back as it was wrong. He refused. I thanked him and took the time the next day to put it back in for a second time, now this Is the third time I have installed a motor and it took me 20 minutes. Guess what, its been working for 3 weeks. So in the end its my belief they tried to take advantage of this 89 year old woman as I wasnt there. But when they got me on the phone they offered a 100 off. Wow very generous when your trying to rob an old woman with 4-5 times the rate to replace a good part.

We would highly recommend Bob's Air Repair for any air conditioning problems. Our air conditioner went out on one of the hottest days yet this spring, called on Sunday evening and they were here Monday morning at 9:00 AM. We had a new unit installed by Wednesday. Fantastic customer service, very professional, neat, timely, considerate and went beyond our expectations!
