Nexus 4  -

A warning to anyone who may purchase these:

Pros:
Tangle free
Attractive Nexus X on each bud

Cons:
Artifact from jostle and bumps comes through louder than music
Mediocre fit in the ears
Sound quality is sub par

I'd recommend looking elsewhere for ear buds.  Almost all the random sets I've picked up off the shelf in Best Buy have been superior sonically.  Unless you just really, really want to support the Nexus brand, pass on these.

These are now in my tech "junk box" of old cell phones, chargers, and manuals that I'll never use again but can't bring myself to throw away.

It started as a partnership then the something happened and Dr. Dre and the other took off with the patents and technology. It was bit of mistake on the CEO of Monster to agree to the deal but they have no ownership in it.
No +Joe Louis not drinking the Monster Kool-Aid or the Beats Kool-Aid as they are just if not more overpriced.

Just a heads up as well as a check to see if anyone had similar issues.  I spent a week in a hotel with very tenuous WiFi and found that the Pixel had an issue holding onto the very weak signal.  On the other hand, the Samsung ARM Chromebook held it very well.

Could this be the metal casing interfering with the signal?  I was a bit shocked that the $250 model did so well when the premium model struggled.

Any others with similar experiences?

These are anecdotes and utterly useless in discerning any difference in wireless radio sensitivity between the various Chromebook models. The fact that one device has a metal case and another a plastic one is irrelevant to their ability to acquire wireless signals lacking any information about the embedded antenna design.

Guys, what would be the benefit of getting the official N4 adapter charger and cable ($25) versus a cheaper generic one?

+Joe Louis That should not be a problem. The device will control the charge cycle to limit current draw to a safe level. For instance I use my Nexus 7 charger on my S3 all the time. The S3 might only draw 1.2A even thought the charger is capable of providing 2A.

Some kernels provided with custom ROM's will increase charger time by modifying the charging algorithm.  I prefer to keep this part of the device stock because the manufacture will always lean on the conservative side to increase longevity of the battery.

Anyone who has not received 4.2.2 OTA, try going into all apps and then Google Services Framework. Stop it and clear the data. Then go back and check for the update.

I'm still seeing a lot of you asking about why you haven't received the update and this should help. If it doesn't work the first time, keep at it!

Edit: as +Bogdan Sandu and +Lee Brewer wisely suggested below you may need to go reenter your Google details or force sync in settings -> accounts -> Google after the update to keep everything syncing. If play store, email, etc doesn't seem to work then give this a try. It may not be necessary for everyone.

Just upgraded to the Dev channel on Chrome OS 27.  Now the "overscroll history navigation" flag has disappeared and the two finger gesture for navigating backwards and forwards doesn't work.  Anybody know of a fix out there?

I missed the two finger overscroll history so much that I had to revert back to stable...:(. Soon as it returns to beta/dev I'm back on it.

The Pixel described in one word: smoooooooooooth.

This thing really is impressive.  I never had any issues with my 550 but after looking at this screen for a couple of hours, when I went back to look at some of my chrome://flags settings on the 550, it was almost painful.

The brushed metal case can get a bit warm, but the keyboard is the only part that I may describe as disappointing, but really that's because the keyboard is so good on my other chromebooks.  They've always felt more expensive than they are.

Dat trackpad however, provides almost a sexual experience.  I'm glad someone can finally rival Apple in that department.

The speakers have impressed me the most, coming from the other chromebooks.  I'm listening to music with it around 40%, while on the Series 5 and 550 I've had to keep it nearly 100% to keep it comfortably audible.

Navigating the 'net and through menus, it's amazing how fast this machine moves.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing what the other new recipients think about it.

Included: a nice example of how Google is updating their native web apps with touch friendly versions.  I didn't realize this until tonight.

Oops... Google Sheets and Smartsheet work well with touch. Panning works in some apps, i.e. Google Maps, LucidChart, FloorPlanner and other apps where the mouse would scroll. Lucidchart needs touch flags to do much other than pan. Psykopaint and 500px are nice. Pixlr looks low-res, but the tools work well with touchscreen.

Thanks +Paul Wilcox and +Adam Lasnik ! I've tried it a couple of more places but it hasn't worked so well because of railings and physical barriers, etc. I'm writing a petition to the governments that safety isn't as important as getting a sweet panorama! Jk!

This was our favorite place. Small and intimate, with the best fish soup in the city. Lovely lattes as well.

A lovely goat farm with goat commodities for purchase, such as feta cheese, goat sausage, a goat fat based creams like tallow (kudos for them using the whole goat). There is a 1500 ISK charge for visiting and petting the goats (took less than 15 minutes), which would be nice if it was waived if you made a purchase.

A very cute local family who used to farm the land before becoming a hotel. The rooms are very nice and have all the Icelandic standards. There is free, reliable WiFi. The restaurant serves the standard Icelandic breakfast buffet which is included with your room. The restaurant at dinner was my favorite part of the stay, with a very professional Scottish student doing some travel work as a server. It was easily the best fish I've ever had. The view from the restaurant makes you want to linger. I would definitely stay again (and eat there again to compete the experience).

I've stopped here a couple of times and the burgers are decent fare. Would go back again. Convenient location.
