George Lettis is a reporter at WBAL-TV 11 Baltimore.
Introduction

Maryland-born, raised and educated, George Lettis is happy to be back home reporting for WBAL-TV, the station he grew up watching. He first joined 11 News in the spring of 2010 on a freelance basis. He joined us full-time in 2013.

A Crofton native, George graduated from Arundel High School, taking with him a state baseball championship trophy his senior year. He went on to get his B.A. from the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland, College Park. While at Maryland, George was part of one of the crews sent to Washington to cover the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon. He also wrote for and became managing editor of the school newspaper,The Diamondback.

His professional television career began a few hours south in Charlottesville, Va., at NBC affiliate WVIR-TV. There, he got his first taste of state politics, covering the Virginia General Assembly in Richmond during the longest budget battle in state history.

Two years later, George packed his bags for Central Pennsylvania to join WBAL's sister station, WGAL-TV, in the Lancaster-Harrisburg-York market. He had the unique opportunity to travel across the state with presidential candidate Barack Obama to cover his historic Democratic primary race against Hillary Clinton. George snagged several exclusive one-on-one interviews with the future president.

George lives with his wife and two Cocker Spaniels in University Park, Maryland. Follow him on Twitter! @GLettis
