What an event!  A 65 year old ultra-endurance event that attracts 50,000 fans to the heart of Northern Michigan's lower peninsula...a spot where there are nowhere near 50,000 residents anywhere around.

The Au Sable River Canoe Marathon, Presented by Consumers Energy, is one of the Epic Endurance Sport Competitions on Earth! The event took place on July 28, 2012 and is from Grayling to Oscoda, Michigan. This year they are celebrating the 65th Year of North America's Toughest, Richest Canoe Race & the World's Toughest Spectator Race!
