Food was not the best. Service was horrible. Our waitress was extremely condescending. We ordered two items that never arrived and she wanted to argue that we never ordered them when all four of us KNEW that we did. When my friend asked for shrimp sauce she refused to give us any because it wasn't included in the all you can eat menu she said...even though she offered to pay for it. It's a condiment for crying out loud! At the end of our meal she said "if you want anything else let me know...NOW." We all looked at each other and shook our heads. We won't be back. As others said, their roles are a little weird. They make you all do all you can eat or not, you can't mix, they won't bring you more food till you finish, etc

We stopped in for the all you can eat sushi after being told by a reliable source to try it. It was nothing to write home about. The restaurant was pretty dead, unlike the other sushi places I have tried around dinner time. The server acted like he didn't want to be there and tried to make some weird jokes that just made interacting with him awkward. Most of the crab options used imitation crab and a lot of the other rolls ALL had salmon (I'm not a fan). There is also a note stating there are no substitutions or modifications to the menu. Everyone at the table must order the all you can eat, other restaurants don't have this policy. We were also charged an extra 15%, the menu states "Food waste is an additional 15% charge and cannot order anymore". We had no food waste, we ate all of our sushi! I get better quality and better service at my other sushi place, I won't be back.

This is by far the worst sushi I have ever had. The fish was very different than what I've had elsewhere for the last 15 years. It was absolutely nasty. I gagged trying to eat some of it to avoid the 15% food waste penalty which they tell you right away (must be a pattern). Each sushi piece was almost all rice too, so you'd have to eat pounds of rice to get a bit of fish. If you order sashimi you'll throw up from the fish's texture, smell or taste. The food is way overpriced. Don't be fooled by the buffet. I do NOT recommend anyone visit this place. Nasty is the word to describe my experience and the only way I'd go back is if someone paid me an hourly rate to sit around and watch them eat. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE BLACK PLAGUE!!!

Best place ever for sushi. We live in Maplewood and we make the drive 3-4 times a month to Apple Valley just for Sushi. It really beat all other places. They don't go cheap on their portions. When you order 30 pieces of salmon sashimi, you get 30 pieces thumb size Salmon Sashimi. Unlike other sushi restaurants that would only give you 10 pieces and they are the size of your nail. Last I recall, Sashimi is a large slice of raw fish, not the size of a dime. We had one time when the server didn't bring us one order sushi, but he apologized and quickly brought us an order. Never have I seen the servers be rude. Yes, they may not have the best English. It doesn't mean they were rude. For those complaining about the 15%, every Sushi restaurants has it written on the front of the menu. And there is a 18% tip added to the party of 6+ like most Sushi restaurants. I like it that this place isn't packed. It has a good number of people that go out to eat. This means we get seated right away and we can order right away. This place is for true Sushi LOVERS.

Prior to being seated I asked if we could get a gluten free option for my daughter. The chef came out and agreed he could (Chicken and Rice). After being seated we were told by our waiter that we could only do ala carte, or buffet, but not both. They would not serve my daughter an ala carte plate if the rest of the family was having the buffet. Needless to say, not customer freindly. It was a very simple request. We will not be going back, and live only 5 min's away. I would be glad to pay full price for her ala carte entre, the buffet for other 2 kids, and myself to enjoy a nice dinner. Go next door to Valley Diner, they understand customer service.

The all-you-can-eat is a great deal with decent quality sushi. Not the best in the city by any stretch, but definitely good. We have been here many times and have never been disappointed. They have a variety of rolls, maki, nigiri, noodles and proteins to choose from - so even if you arent a big fan of sushi there are a ton of choices. You get what you pay for, and this is no exception - don't expect the 'best of the best' sushi, but Kami is one of the best setups of this type in the Twin Cities.

I absolutely love Kami! I go there as often as I can. The only downside is, they don't discount on holiday's....On mother's day we went there to eat bc kids eat free on Sunday's, but they said that didn't count bc it was a holiday. I was sad. You'd think they'd accommodate mother's on mother's day.

KAMI hasn't shared anything with you.

People are more likely to share with you if you add them to your circles.
