Hey dudes,
i really love to see every new Design-Template, Idea, Screenshot or demo. But actually I'm a little confused about "The real thing". Which of these screens are actual the real stuff and will be available in the alpha?

Is it possible to post an actual gallery here or on the website.

Can't wait to see an alpha and try it out!

PS: Is there a away to spend you (the team) a beer?

Hey,
thanks for your fast responses. So both of this mockups are valid and will be available?

https://github.com/papyros/mockups/blob/master/desktop_shell/calendar_indicator.png

https://github.com/papyros/mockups/blob/master/desktop_shell/layout_5.png

In my opinion they look very different. Or is it just me?

Hey guys,
first i will tell you, that the design of your project and the ideas are awesome. Thanks a lot for your effort.

There is one thing, that i really dont catch... Why another distro and not just a desktop environment? I see projects like #elementaryOS, #Zorin, #Mint and more out there. All of them are fighting with kernel-Problems, DM-Issues, Driver-related stuff and more. And most of them can't fix these problems.

Isn't it better to focus on the DE, Design and some Apps, but lose yourself in kernel-issues or other unrelated things?

The possibilities are endless. Push the DE (#Papyros - love this name) with #Redhat / #Fedora, #Ubuntu or #Arch and you can find your idea in the major-distributions and Arch of course ;)

I really appreciate your answers and reasons not to go "only DE, but OS"

PS: Sorry for my bad english. It's not my first language.

Hey, thanks a lot for your answer. And it is very nice to see this kind of question in the FAQ on the website.

I hope it will work out with Arch Linux! :) I love this rolling release thingy and the very modern architecture. And i hope that the Arch Team supports this project as well as Manjaro. Can't wait to see the Alpha!

Troubleshooting  -

Hello together,

after some nice time with F20 and the new apps plank and birdie, i really enjoy it.
But today i found something, that i have never seen before. If i have a look in my mounts i can see a loooot of cgroup-mounts. And here is the question:
Is this normal?
It seems like, this is caused by selinux. Can i disable this cgroups-behavior without disabling selinux at all?

Thanks a lot for your help :)

Selinux has nothing to do with the cgroups mounts you see. They are 'caused' by systemd. You can use df -h for a 'cleaner' output.

Hey +GNOME ,

I really love the new Core-Apps in F20. But, i do not hear anything from the gnome-calendar. Is it possible to see it in +Fedora Project  21? And can we choose the core-apps as default-apps whithout editing desktop-files in F21 / Gnome 3.12?

Pantheon Desktop. Summary. Pantheon Desktop is a new desktop environment being developed by the people that develop Elementary OS. It is written from scratch using Vala and the GTK3 toolkit. With regards to usability and appearance, the desktop has some similarities with GNOME Shell and Mac OS X ...
