Researchers can remotely sense the ocean’s color to monitor changes in coastal areas which are environmentally vulnerable. See how Favareto, et. al. use WPI’s UltraPath system to do this. http://www.mdpi.com/2072-4292/10/7/1043

Surprising secret channels in the skull were discovered by Massachusetts General Hospital researcher Mathias Nahrendorf, MD, PhD and his team. These miniature tunnels connect the bone marrow of the skull directly with the meninges of the brain. In the event of a brain trauma like a stroke, immune cells travel from the bone marrow via the secret channels directly to affected brain region.

Biopsy punches for laboratory use.
When you need to quickly take minimally invasive, small samples, the biopsy punch is the right choice. Biopsy punches are not restricted to dermatology. Think about taking patch recording samples, obtaining neuro transmitters for analysis, or taking skin samples. Forensic scientists can sample gels, films, paint chips and paper. Or, punch flow inlets in microfluidic chambers molded of PDMS (polydimethylsiloxane). You can even collect samples from the leaves, flowers and stems of plants for use in DNA isolation applications.
