I saw a sign that said it was voted "Best Mideastern food downriver" in the window as I walked up. I am quite picky so I said to myself "I would be the judge myself." I had a Fattoush salad with the chicken and feta on it and It was Amazing! Great food and excellent service. Thank you.

As someone who *loves* Middle Eastern food, Bashar's is a seriously inadequate substitute for the kind of food that can be found in the Dearborn area. Their hummus is awful, the garlic sauce is middling, and the over use of za'atar is astounding. I'm assuming the mix of dry spices that are added for effect are za'atar, but it could be a cheap mix of italian seasoning for all of the flavor that it adds. The gallaba is decent, until the quarter cup of za'atar is dumped on top. I don't know if it's used to fancy up what looks like a plate of slop, or to cover up bad cooking, but I scrape off as much as I can. The hummus, like I said is awful. I have never had hummus this color or consistency, and that wouldn't matter if the flavor was halfway decent. It isn't. The so-called fattoush salad is just as bad. I'm not sure how or why this restaurant is still in business, the second "Middle Eastern" restaurant flamed out after maybe a year. Flat Rock doesn't seem too interested in Lebanese cuisine, which I guess accounts for the bizarre mix of "American" food on the menu. If you're going to be an "American" restaurant, be an American restaurant. If you're going to be a Middle Eastern restaurant, do that...but do it well. If you're willing to drive for *really* good Middle Eastern food, head to Garden City / Dearborn Heights / Dearborn. - Al Sultan on Inkster has amazing hummus, great shawarmas. - Ollie's on Ford has excellent everything. Get the roast veggies and hummus with sautéed chicken, yummmm. - Super Greenland market on Ford has excellent hummus and garlic sauce, and their packaged fattoush salad is better than most restaurant varieties. I'm not sure how Bashar's manages to have decent reviews, other than maybe most of the reviewers have never had excellent Middle Eastern food. That's a shame cuz Bashar's seems willing to continue churning out mediocre food as long as the good people of Flat Rock continue to gobble it up.

Absolutely need to rethink their menu. I've had Middle Eastern food in Dearborn and Taylor and they all are MUCH better than this place. The bread is store bought pita bread warmed in a microwave. The food is aweful.

The best part about the dining experience was the waitress. The hommus was chunky, watery and slightly sweet. The garlic paste was also sweet. The Deboned chicked for 2 looked delicious but was so tough it had the consistancy of a well done cheap cut of steak. I literally couldn't cut it even with the steak knife provided. I LOVE Mideastern and Mediterranean food but I don't know what it is they are serving. Don't go.

Food and service was excellent. We got one of the meals for two and we ate it for two days. So much delicious food for the price. We will definately be going back.

The shawarma was great. Service was fast and friendly, and the price is right. Great place for lunch and can accommodate larger parties easily and quickly!
