The master bedroom is our sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of modern life, so if you're going to give one room a touch of luxury then this should be it.
• Add an ensuite bathroom – Adding an ensuite bathroom will increase the value of your home by around 6%. However, only do it if it's not at the expense of something more valuable such as another bedroom. It can also be detrimental if it results in the master bedroom being too small. Small Changes
As the bedroom is such a personal space, it can be tempting to make it very 'you'. Stripping back the personal touches and making it more neutral is the best way to increase its attractiveness to buyers – and the more people like your home the more they are likely to pay.
• Redecorate – Neutral, warm colours such as beiges are recommended in the bedroom. Painting the walls makes a big difference for a low cost, but if you don’t have the time simply swapping the bed covers and key furnishings such as bedside lampshades to neutral colours works wonders.
• Declutter – Make sure the items that normally clutter bedrooms such as clothes are stored away out of sight.
• Deep clean the carpet – A clean, comfortable carpet is an important selling point in the bedroom. However, complete replacement is expensive and you may not see the money back. Hire an industrial cleaner for a carpet that looks as good as new.
