It's time to come out of winter hibernation, dust off your paddle and hit the water again. Pre-season training resumes on Saturday 4th August at 9.30-11.30am.

Coaches and executive committee have been working hard behind the scenes and have lots of new initiatives for the upcoming season. We are going to have a fantastic season. Focus is on fun, friendship and fitness!

Great review from Amanda, the HerCanberra reporter who tried dragon boating with us recently:
"I know Lake Burley Griffin smells a little funky from time to time but the ladies at Diamond Phoenix make it so much fun that at the end you don’t really care about getting a little ‘refreshing’ splash.

I always thought that dragon boating was for those brave souls that wake up at the crack of dawn and ...go ‘break some water’. But the team was made up of school age girls and some wise women who did not let any one of the 21 ladies slack off on the “twist and pull” – so much so, that the next day I could not even laugh my abs were hurting so much.

You could tell that everyone was there not only for the dragon boating exercise, but as a social group as well. Everyone was really friendly, chatty and eager.

The Diamond Phoenix team is the only woman’s team in Canberra, but don’t let that fool you – they boast great competitive times while loving the fun and social aspects of this growing sport."
