Memo Finds Uber’s Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel Salle Yoo Leaving Company

According to a memo received by Uber’s legal team, Uber’s chief Legal officer and General Counsel Salle Yoo is resigning, in yet another piece of news from Uber’s senior executive change bandwagon. Reportedly, Salle will continue working with the company until a suitable replacement is found by new CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, who joined Uber two weeks ago.

Venmo Rival Zelle to Launch Mobile App

More tech competition is coming out of the woodwork this week, as Sept. 12 marks the release of the Zelle app. And with it, another hat is thrown into the ring for person-to-person financial sharing app dominance with Venmo and Paypal. The Zelle app is backed by more than 30 major United States banks, including Bank of America, Wells Fargo and JPMorgan Chase, a network that has been in development since approximately 2011.

Social Mentorships: Facebook’s Got It

Mentor/mentee relationships move into the realm of social networks as Facebook is supposedly testing a way to use its social network in order to match users who are looking for either a mentor or a protégé on the site. It appears that the site would match a mentee’s interests up with those of the mentor’s, and by way of introduction, would give the users a list of points they have in common, such as friends, education, geographic location and of course, profession.

CEO of Hewlett Packard Enterprises Meg Whitman is now a member on Dropbox’s Board of Directors. The results of what seems to be a very aggressive job campaign. It was rumored (though she denied as much several times) that she was gunning to be the new head of the troubled ride-sharing company, Uber. The position instead went to former Expedia CEO Dara Khosrowshahi.

Bank of America CEO Thinks Bitcoin Is a ‘Fraud’

Appearing at a CNBC/Institutional Investor Delivering Alpha conference in New York Tuesday, J.P Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon reiterated his view on cryptocurrencies in general, saying that “it’s not a real thing.” That came just moments after the CEO called Bitcoin a “fraud” at a Barclays event earlier in the day. Dimon insisted that world governments will eventually crack down on the digital currencies because cryptocurrency is suited for illicit use and/or transactions by those in sanctioned countries such as North Korea.
