Small, homey spot with sidewalk seats dishing up an array of traditional Mexican plates.- Google
"It has got to be the absolute best Mexican restaurant in New Orleans."

I freaking LOVE their taco salad. And their fountain drinks are THE best.

It is a nice-looking and decently decorated Mexican restaurant. There is pleasant outside seating, right on the sidewalk. The appetizer chips had two delicious sauces with it. My entree ($9.00) was the Jalapenos Chili Relleno (beef), with sides of rice, refried beans, and a bit of salad. The main problem was not the flavor, which was delicious all around, but the tiny portions. One just doesn't get much, here. So, if you love delicious food and am satisfied with just a little bit of it, this is a place for you. RJT

For authentic mexican, this is easily the best place in the city. Their fish tacos and cheese enchiladas doused in salsa verde are my favorites. You are greeted with an overflowing basket of home made tortilla chips with red and green salsa, also freshly made. While the music inside is kind of loud, the outdoor tables are shaded, so combined with a breezy day, there are few places I would rather go for a quick, casual, and delicious meal.

What a wonderful cheap, authentic Mexican restaurant! This was our first time to try Panchitas. It has got to be the absolute best Mexican restaurant in New Orleans. The service was very helpful and fast, and the atmosphere and big block chairs were very comfortable. I'll definitely be going back.

This is a amazing little place, always friendly, very fast, consistently good food. Personal I love the outside tables, but the inside isn't bad. If you like good food and friendly service at a affordable price, this is the place for you

New Orleans is not a Mexican food town. There are only two places that I would recommend and this is one of them. Don't go here if you expecting American "Tex-Mex" food. They have great authentic Mexican cuisine. Some pallets may not be able to handle the tastes since it falls outside the norm. The salsa is great and it tasted different every time you go here since it is made fresh. At times, they will bring roasts jalapeños to the table as an appetizer. Warning, some of these can be ripping hot. The chips are homemade and the mole has a rich, dark, chocolaty taste. My only complaint is that the steak can have large hunks of grizzle.

As a former employee I can say DO NOT EAT HERE. Sure it's good authentic Mexican, but they reuse the salsa after people eat out of it, refill chip trays after people eat out of them (with old chips still in them), reuse lime/lemon wedges that were on people's plates. The cooks leave meat out during shifts, and handle foods bare handed, etc. IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH, AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Food was fresh & seemingly authentic. Margaritas were excellent! Must return to try other dishes
