Long-running BBQ joint grilling Memphis-style ribs & other Southern fare in a cafeteria-style setup.- Google
"Ribs were dry and flavorless, all you could taste was BBQ sauce."
"Their sweet potato pie isn't so bad either."

So I wasn't a big Honey Bear's fan for years. My co-worker decided to eat lunch here today as my plan was to go next door to the philly sub place. However when my co-worker started reading the sign about a 1/2 fish or full fish with a side my mind started to be curious. So I ordered the 1/2 with a side and I must say Honey Bear's is the business. Loved every bite of it. I would have ordered the peach cobbler but I was so full I had to resist. Next time Honey Bear's I'll try it out. Thank you Love!

I'm beginning to lose my "fanship" of this place! Lately every time I go there they don't have any ribs, amongst other items! It's not like the line is super long or even out the door, so why are they running out of food?! I'm wondering if they're under new management? The more they keep this crap up the more I go to Bobby Q's or Papa Joe's Fish-N-Que. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!

Ordered the half fish. Fish was good, found bones in it, potato salad good. Nothing excellent. Most food from here is mediocre. Got a to go order. No plastic ware or napkins. Got hot sauce with fish...wtf? For the price you would expect better food and condiments. If you want average food for high price. Then this is your place.

This place sucks. We are from California and wanted to have some BBQ food. We should have not come here based on the reviews but we were so tired from the long drive we were to lazy to drive to bobby q who had great reviews. Mac & cheese was watery, all you tasted was the pepper. Beans sucked. No corn bread...... Disappointment. Don't understand how this place is in business. Don't eat here. Your better off walking across the street and eating Panera bread

I always avoid going to locally owned establishments that claim to have food that has the style and taste of food from a certain locality. Especially claiming to be cooked from a certain indiginous, family or secret recipe. The worst restaurants in Tennessee wouldn't serve what I tried to eat one evening at this place. And like many establishments like this they think you be thrilled about the crap they serve under the pretense of being the food of the said locale. Last of all, the service was bad. The mangers acted more like gangsters with a crappie tough attitude. I thought I was back in Chicago or Queens no disrespect to those two cities just trying to get a point across about tough back east attitudes in a Southwestern city. No need for it.

In my neverending attempts of trying to find a replacement to Big City BBQ (best bbq joint in Phx, closed) I decided to give Honey Bears a chance. This location is probably failing every health code in the book. Floors look like they havent been cleaned for days. Walls near the floor look like they have never been cleaned. Almost every side on the menu was not available due to the lazy staff watching the game all day. Just to have my 3yr old use the bathroom I had to clean the toilet mysefl for a few minutes. I will say their bbq sandwiches are pretty good, but based on our experience with their ribs we will never go to Honey Bears again. The best description I can give for their ribs was beef jerky soaked in bbq sauce. They couldve been even frozen beforehand. I know I am only one reviewer but considering the facts I experienced this one time, you would be best going somewhere else. Try Stacey's Smokehouse
