The SF'15 class participated in a business trip to California, part of the program's Seminar in Leadership. Based in Silicon Valley, the fellows explored the power of innovation by meeting with leaders at various organizations.  Here the fellows kick off their week at a welcome reception for partners and fellows. The following day they met with Joy Weiss, President & CEO of Linear Technology and heard from California Lieutenant Governor, Gavin Newsom.

While in California last week, the SF'15 class did get to see some of San Francisco.  Several fellows woke early and did a run (great hill training!). As you can see they found the famous Boudin Bakery.  On their free afternoon, many fellows took to the sea - in this case on a large catamaran out on San Francisco Bay with the Golden Gate Bridge in view.

5 current MIT Sloan Fellows (Mohamed, Alex, Sangeeta, Ilya, and Effi) submitted their application to compete in the MIT $100K Launch competition. Their idea, Ayaadi, connects the elderly, living independently who have unmet basic needs, with helpers in their communities who are willing to lend them helping "hands" ("ayaadi"=hands in Arabic). The photo below is of the class of 2015 showing their support.Best of luck!

MIT Sloan Fellow, Josh Adler, SF'13, was recently featured in an article and video where he discussed his start-up, Sourcewater. Sourcewater pioneers an exchange for trading and recycling water for oil and gas production and other operations. Josh is partnering with MIT's Industrial Liaison Program (ILP) in beta testing the usability of Sourcewater's system. But his ties with MIT don't stop there. Other Sourcewater employees and partners include an MIT PhD candidate, an EMBA candidate and a faculty member from the MIT Energy Initiative Program. Now that's the way to reach across the MIT ecosystem to help solve a global challenge! http://ilp.mit.edu/newsstory.jsp?id=20576
Studying energy ventures as a Sloan Fellow in 2012, Josh Adler was struck by the enormous expansion of unconventional oil and gas production in recent years. “Anything that's become that big that fast has to have all kinds of chaos in its supply chains and operations, and all kinds of problems ...

To help relieve the stress of midterms and H1 final exams, MIT Sloan Student Life sponsored "Yappy Hour" where students were able to spend a few minutes petting and playing with new furry friends from D.O.G. Bones. What a great way to take a break from the stresses of the last week of H1.
