Dan Heiss, SF'89 and former CEO of Sprint, was recently interviewed about what book most impacted his life: The Republic by Plato. He speaks to the lessons and leadership skills we can still learn from ancient Greek philosophers.
A personal passion of mine is reading business books, where for over two decades I have read a business book a week as I try to learn more about the subject I cover most, business leadership. I decided to seek a recommendation for my next book to read from someone [...]

"Moving Day at MIT kicks off on May 7 with an innovative parade over land and water that celebrates the Institute’s historic relocation to the City of Cambridge in 1916. All are invited to participate in this uniquely MIT event by either entering the Crossing the Charles community competition or by joining the procession over the bridge—led by Grand Marshal Oliver Smoot ’62—and cheering on competitors. Come in festive spirit...costumes and props are optional!"

SF'17 starts their first week of classes today! Last week, they learned what to expect from the year, courses, each other, and the Program Office. As a new class starts and we look forward to the upcoming year, the words from Murray Smith, SF'16, seem especially relevant:

"If you are thinking there is a lot of ground covered in one year, you’re right. The Sloan Fellows Program is intense, it will push you, pull you, exhaust you but most of all energize you with a sense of new purpose. That purpose is about continuing to have impact of positive consequence and create opportunities for others to be their best."

The SF16 Speaker Series offered Fellows and partners rich content and ability to engage with experts outside of the formal classroom setting. Thank you to the Fellows who assisted in organizing this effort, the speakers, and everyone who attended!
