I ordered the kids burrito because the regular size is way to big and they just recently told me I can't order it any more because I am not a kid. I was a regular too and now I haven't been back for months. It wasn't the best burrito but some of the food is really good. It is a bit pricey as well.

Food was outstanding! They stayed late just to serve our family. Loved the green salsa. Would definitely recommend to a friend. - M. Pierce & Family

I used to eat at Rudy's at least twice a week. It is close to my home and office, but after my experience last week, I will no longer be eating there. I ordered the chicken soft taco plate (the same thing I get EVERY time I go there). They made hard tacos. When I told them that they were supposed to be soft, the cook asked if I wouldn't just eat the hard tacos. I said no and sat down. The food sat on the counter for a while. He made food for the other 2 people in the restaurant. After a few minutes, I went back up and asked the cashier what was going on. She told me that the cook "didn't want to remake the food." He told me, "It's not my fault. That's what it said on the order." I said it wasn't my fault either and he said, "Well whose fault is it?" I said that it didn't matter, that we wanted soft tacos. He continued to slam stuff around the kitchen and the cashier told me he wouldn't remake the food, that he was having a bad day. I asked for our money back and we left after getting the owner's number. I called and left a message, but he has not yet returned my call.

I did not like the food of this place, even though I like mexican food (I leved in Mexico for a while). I had a Flauta, and I did not finish it, it was to juicy and the chiken meat was not good. Taco grande restaurant nearby is 10 times better for the same budget

My husband and I just had Rudy's shrimp tacos - they were excellent! I think possibly the best I've ever had. The sauce compliments the guacamole. Plenty of shrimp in each taco. Great choices of Mexican beer. With the rice and beans, it's a damn good meal i would have to recommend: shrimp tacos are goooooood!

I like their tortas, flour tostadas, and burritos. The chile verde is excellent -- my personal favorite in Carpinteria. Salsas are fresh and somewhat hotter than other restaurants but not overwhelming. Friendly staff, premises are bright and clean. Popular spot for lunch but they have quick service and can usually handle the rush. Prices are a buck or two higher than I'd hope, but are justified.
