Thus is the nature of books in the software world.

It's interesting when a brand new model (FOSS) collides with an industry steeped in mysterious and ancient ways (publishing). The world of publishing has always been opaque, even to most participants. The FOSS is, by nature very open. It's certainly a clash of cultures.

Personally, I'm still surprised at the kind of relative popularity that my last several titles have ended up with. I'd think that most folks would do better with video tutorials and the like, but I've received enough feedback from people who claim that the books were the "only thing that worked for them after months/years of frustration" that I guess there must be a sizable population whose brains learn better when reading than when watching. Diff'rent strokes.

for some folks videos are just too fast, they want to study letter by letter.
