IT BEGINS.

DIY Soylent mix Version 1.0 is being ordered. I am now going to start a 1 month packaging setup if possible.

Main goal with version 1.0; set myself on a solid healthy shake mix to cover 75-ish% of my daily needs, while also providing a nootropic and fat burning / muscle building effect. As much as possible will be built out using fruit, veg, and whole grains.

Wish me luck.

god i wish that had worked out.

So I'm just curious, but since Google is making me give up my one pivotal service that they offer (reader), why should I keep any of my other services with them?

G+ is fair, but it never seems like something that is exceptionally effective (although i generally like it more in concept). Gmail is great, but I could always switch over to something else, and use Thunderbird. Picasa is pretty easily replaced by Flickr or one of the other providers out there. Drive can be pretty much replaced by Dropbox. Blogger/Blogspot can be scraped and exported over to Wordpress or so forth. Android wont be mature until you can switch your laptop or desktop over to it (pretty swell for smartphones though, since you don't have to worry about keeping one for more than 2 years). ChromeOS was an idea on a dartboard that never really stood a solid chance on the market. Maps has a pretty huge open source alternative that has been brewing for years..

And lastly for my list, Google search has been getting steadily more and more useless for my personal searches over the last 6 months. I can search for something that I had looked up not even 2 days before, about a very specific topic, and it tries to send me to either a store for some bullshit I wasnt looking for, or tells me about some sports news, or a television show. Even doing image searches it does the same thing, and I also can't turn off safesearch filters anymore, because I'm apparently 12 and need a good moral guide to what I look at on my computer.

I'm partially just venting here, but I will say this. I am totally willing to invest time and even money in alternatives to Google products right now, because I'm getting the feeling that there is about to be another wave of new startup innovators coming along in the net sphere.

Because this is THE best feature google has to offer. If they let it die, I'm going to begin building my own version.

Cool, but this seems like such a logical step for any company that has the option to do it.
