The worst Mexican food experience I've ever had. At one point, I thought a joke was being played on us. My wife and I came on a Friday night around 9pm... it wasn't very busy. -We sat down and waited 10 minutes before silverware & water came -We ordered fajita beef queso and got ground beef queso after 10 more minutes -No refills on chips and salsa -When silverware, water, and queso finally came out (20 minutes), we ordered fajitas and some fried advocado entree -Literally 45 minutes pass with no run-by of the waitress at all to ask for more drinks or refill water or ask if we wanted anything else -Dinner arrives. Cold non-sizzling fajitas and a cold soggy 'fried' advocado with hard tortillas -Still no refill on chips and salsa -Still no request to ask how we were doing ***They were not busy at all... we were literally the only table outside*** -I spoke with manager, refused to pay and explained the situation. He still charged me for the drinks... HAHAHA wow Left cash no tip and spoke 1:1 with the watiress to see if she had any explanation on the horrible service. She said, "Sorry, I got a table of girls inside and you know how that is"..... Even if the service were good, this is still the worst Mexican food I've had in Dallas. Absolutely terrible service and even worse food = 1 star review

Infinite Energy disconnected my service without ANY notice at all. I didn't realize until I got home form work and by then, their offices were closed and nothing could be done. I was stuck in the Texas summer heat all night. Absolutely ridiculous. They claimed they mailed me a letter... apparently I forgot to update my online payment account? Welcome to 2013 in the world of INTERNET, EMAIL, AND CELL PHONES. How about you e-mail me or call me before you DISCONNECT my service out of the blue? Absolutely ridiculous.

Whoa. How have I lived in Dallas for over 4 years and not been to this place? Wife and I were craving crawfish, did a poll of friends and everyone recommended Boiling Crab. We knew the line would be crazy on a Saturday afternoon, so we prepared for it. They open at noon, and we actually got there at 11:30 with just a short line out the door. Luckily, we made the first wave of customers in and were seated right when they opened. I will say though once everyone was seated, they were giving most people a 1.5 to 2 hour wait estimate... so I'd say get there 11:30 ish or just wait until 3-4pm. We got 4 pounds of their specialty shebang seasoning, 1 pound of original cajun, 1 pound of shrimp in the shabang, and added corn, potatoes, sausage. I like to try a little of everything when I go to new places... and I'm a lard. Service was very good and quick. The crawfish were awesome, varying in sizes but overall decent size. The shrimp was really good, but I'd pick crawfish over shrimp. Love how they serve everything in bags. At $7/pound it's about average price in Dallas. I'm used to Houston, so I'm spoiled... If you're taking stars off for the wait in line, that's just stupid. This is one of those places where the wait is kind of part of the experience ha. That being said, I don't think I'd ever wait 2+ hours :)

Great pizza and it's open late. It kinda becomes the drunk tank everyone goes to for pizza if you go after midnight on a weekend, but it's actually good pizza. Calzones are good as well. If you live in Uptown, this is probably your pizza joint (outside of the national chains)

I have to say, Manchester State Thomas is a great place to live in Uptown. Especially if you're looking for a town home style place to rent.

So, I've had a shaved head for the past 5 years. Before then, I'd just go to those cheap $5 haircut places and get the generic mens cut ha. I've been growing it out for over 2 months now, and got to the point where I needed to do something with it. Asian hair grows out kinda weird... like puffy and straight out. So, I started researching mens hair salons in my area and came across Travis Salon and all the positive reviews. I can see why! I e-mailed Tim, let him know of my situation and that I really had no idea what I wanted to do with my hair, and we set an appointment. The salon is pretty cool, looks like they turned a nice little Uptown house into a salon. He gave my wife and I beers as we walked in and the atmosphere was very relaxed and chill. I showed him a few pictures on my phone I pulled off the internet of certain hairstyles I'd like to emulate, and we were on the same page. (messy combover kinda look) Shampoo, haircut, shampoo, and style. For a guy who's been shaving his own head for the past 5 years, this was a different experience for me ha. Love the way it turned out, Tim really knows what he's doing. My wife and I were very impressed with how everything looked. Will definitely be coming back and recommending Tim and Travis Salon in general. Great service, atmosphere, and haircut/style.

La Barbecue is pretty awesome. Free beer while you wait in line (they have a keg) and outdoor seating. They serve until they run out of food, but you're not going to be waiting in some 1-3 hour line like you would somewhere else... The brisket was awesome, the beef ribs are incredible, and the pulled pork is delicious. Would definitely put this on your list of Austin BBQ joints to check out.
