These dangers and effects have been known for a long time, but what can be done to stop it?  Agriculture relies on toxins to sustain the current level of harvest.  American rely on coal power that also poisons us.  Chemicals in non-food products don't even have to be approved for safety, and are only outlawed if grievous harm is shown with the onus on the consumer. Even then it takes years of bad PR or litigation.  I feel like all I can do right now is eat organic food, avoid living near farms, coal plants, and chemical plants and try to research kid's products to find items with no toxins or flame retardants.  We opt for wind power through our utility.  That's it.  It is a huge system that is not going away anytime soon.  The Republicans have gutted the EPA and would love to see it die.  Polluting companies continue to enjoy huge profits while they socialize the cost of clean-up and health costs to the taxpayers.  As long as this is so, there is no solution.

I went to #ComicCon in Indy today on a whim, as something to do with my kid.  I was so disappointed as it was a mere shadow of a convention.  I believe the number one reason was this-  The comic vendors were almost exclusively DC and Marvel.  Any other publishers like IDW, Dark Horse, etc were completely absent.  One of the celebrity guests was Maisie Williams.  Great!  Except there was no GoT representation at the booths.  There were many fans dressed as Japanese comic characters, but no vendors selling Japanese comics.  I talked to one vendor who mentioned some 'bad blood' about anything outside DC/Marvel.  I do not understand this aversion to making money on products that the attendees obviously want.  Now #GenCon Indy understands the big tent thing.  They do it right.  That is why this was a mere shadow of what it could have been and it makes me very sad to see such self-limitation.  Sad:(

Apple radio and Hulu have this condition that drives me insane.  The shows and music all stutter and freeze, but the commercials all flow perfectly and consistently.  Does this make anyone else want to eat their remote and yell at inanimate objects?   On a different note Derek was relating how people watched Netflix connecting through "back avenues" without a stutter, but watching it the normal way got the frustrating results I described above.  This is just one fine example of how companies were violating net neutrality before they lobbied to kill it and won. (we're breaking the law so let's just overturn it!)  Also, while I am venting I hate the fact that I cannot watch the Olympics without cable.  It should be available to everyone on the internet!  All I can see is figure skating.  Not cool.  Why should I be on black out because I have judged cable to be a huge waste of money.  Still, I would pay a fee to get access to all of the events.  Why isn't this available?? The old model of cable for everything is so outdated! Anyone else want to vent? Cause I feel better now, even if no one cares...

I know that cat!  I have stayed at this hotel several times and the cat is definitely a fixture.  Really?! Who would want to steal a cat?  I am glad he is back home lounging around at staring at boarders suspiciously, even more so now.

We just do face up play as you can see from the bottom row (should be in his hand). He reads the cards by himself and doesn't need much help these days, just a little strategy. He definitely enjoys winning though, would play all day if not for school.
