I discuss Donald J. Trump, my father Dr. Mukti L. Das, the Republican National Committee, Senator Hillary Clinton and President Bill Clinton, Senator Ted Cruz, Georgia, Jeb Bush the United States Constitution, my college friend Dan Haley and his former boss Mitt Romney, growing up in Massachusetts and other such topics. The first Sunday edition of my Video Blog is here for your consideration. I found inspiration from John Legend's very public discussion with his classmate at UPenn, Donald Trump Jr., in which he called Trump's father and many of his supporters racist. While I have not formally done the same, I feel Trump's danger emanates from an equally dangerous place. Let me know what your thoughts are.

I had heard a few rumblings about the new international terminal at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. Having lived in Bombay for several years a few years ago, I remember the airport being the bane of my tra...

A focus on just the availability of a big corporate law firm job after graduation robs the decision of whether to go to law school of much of its other essential considerations.

"As a country, we have been through this too many times. Whether it’s an elementary school in Newtown, or a shopping mall in Oregon, or a temple in Wisconsin, or a movie theater in Aurora, or a street corner in Chicago — these neighborhood
s are our neighborhoods, and these children are our children. And we’re going to have to come together and take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this, regardless of the politics... May God bless the memory of the victims and, in the words of Scripture, heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds."

My parents, who are both in their 70s, went to the Woburn Bottle and Can Return center last week and had an awful experience. They questioned the amount they received (apparently the center pays less than the Massachusetts 5 cent rate and keeps a portion) and because they did so, the owners became agitated. While it surely is the right of any owner to operate a business the way he/she sees fit (including, I guess, paying less than the state's bottle deposit rate and keeping a margin), it isn't OK to treat a customer with aggression or hostility. The owner had a friend at the store at the time that aggressively approached my father, nearly causing a physical altercation that left my dad pretty shaken. When going to this establishment, ask yourself how much your bottles are really worth and whether it is worth your sanity. My guess is that it isn't.

I have now purchased two watches from Barmakian in Nashua, and while the experiences have all been positive from a sales perspective, I've had bad luck with both my watches. The first, a TAG Heuer Calibre 6 started losing nearly five minutes a day after only a few months of ownership. When I took the watch to get serviced under warranty, I purchased an Ebel Discovery 1911 Automatic Chronometer. Today, as I was trying to time something (which, I admit, I do rarely), i noticed that the top dial which indicates minutes no longer functions. So, while it is likely purely coincidence, I can't say I'm thrilled that a second watch that they recommended me and sold me has stopped working. Not sure I will try for a third! Here's an update: My ebel came back from service last week and I was happy to have it. Alas, on a flight from Boston to Dubai, I noticed that the screws on the face of the watch (that hold the top crystal on) were coming loose and that three of the screws were simply missing. I called Barmakian again -- and left a message for Pat - who handles watches. I received a prompt call back (we've played phone tag) and am now pleased with a customer service experience that has done as much as possible to help a bad situation. I can't say amazing things about ebel, but can say much improved things about Barmakian. Thank you Pat.
