Great stuff, +Paul Roetzer. BTW, I got a ton of value out of "Transform Into A Hybrid." (Folks in marketing/PR that haven't checked it out should do so, stat: http://www.marketingagencyinsider.com/transform-into-a-hybrid). Can't wait to go through the rest of the book.

Found this to be an intriguing perspective that I believe carries over into the marketing services industry: "Generalists, not specialists, are what matter when folks are trying to push the boundaries of what is possible."
Building at scale doesn't just require new tools, it requires a new mindset, said Google's CIO Ben Fried, who spoke at the Surge conference in Baltimore today. That mindset is more general than specia...

The current story-du-jour is a look at local airport security upgrades over the last decade. Here's the one done for my little backyard field (HEF), which--as the piece points out--has grown quite a bit since 9/11, in part because of fallout from 9/11.
Since 9/11 the Airport has spent more than $750,000 in security upgrades.

Happy National Aviation Day! Today is Orville Wright's 140th birthday, celebrate by watching a NOVA episode (on Hulu.com) on the Wright Bros Flying Machine:
Orville and Wilbur Wright were remarkable inventors who designed and built their own wings, steering devices, engines, and wind tunnel. But just how did they construct such an impressive flying machin...

Story
Tagline
senior managing editor -- MRO | aviation week
Introduction
I've worked in aviation since 1991, starting out with Airbus in Toulouse (best work year of my life), moving through an aviation consultancy and airport association along the way. I began reporting on the MRO world in 1996 with Aviation Week and have been doing so, full or part time, in print or online, pretty much ever since. Although the plan is to use this G+ space for work only, everything posted comes with the usual don't-pin-this-on-the-company disclaimer. Got news for me? Send it here.

Can't say enough good things about the entire process, from initial consultation to removal day. The staff is both kind and knowledgable and very accommodating. We will recommend Miller to everyone we can. No suggestions for improvements. Thank you!
