Aren't you fed up with email popovers that try to make you feel stupid for not subscribing to their list?

Here's a rant...

Don't fall for this lead gen scam. A UK organisation has claimed to be a "regulator" of the web development industries. They even said they were in talks with 4 governments. Shocking!

Create DNS records for Office 365 using Windows-based DNS

Are you changing webhosts or adding a reverse proxy like Cloudflare?

If you're going to be changing the nameservers, most if not all your Office 365 DNS records will be wiped out.

You'll need to put them back in. The link below shows how to do that.

Theresa May’s Snooper’s Charter Gives Unprecedented Legal Surveillance Power to Spooks

Unelected Prime Minister Theresa May is coming for you, big or small, guilty or innocent. You can't run and you can't hide and the Investigatory Powers Bill could flatten the Computer Misuse Act.

Vote “Remain” in the EU: Britain is a Steadying Hand on Digital Law Madness

http://www.smallbizgeek.co.uk/vote-remain-eu/

The mainstream UK press rarely mentions a very real reason we should vote to remain.

For the last decade, European Union digital lawmaking madness has been secreting from the Brussels decision making gland, which, on the face of it, threatens UK sovereignty.

On the other hand, Britain has acted as a parental chaperone on digital policy, negotiating better terms, getting clarification on said policy and calling on our MEPs to represent our interests.

We’re better off “in” because it grants us a mitigating voice on issues bedeviling small to medium businesses… but the small ones in particular.

Smart marketing is about help not hype. Excellent book recommendation right here.

http://www.smallbizgeek.co.uk/youtility-by-jay-baer-book-review/
Thanks to internet pixels and psychological tact, the classic advertising model has been superseded by marketing based on being useful and helping people, says Jay Baer in his 2013 book Youtility. If

UK Government: it’s time for the digital economy to count

Any web designers, developers, social media or IT managers reading this? Officially, your work doesn't count.

https://webdevlaw.uk/2016/07/20/standard-industrial-classification-codes/

Outdated government industrial classifications have contributed to a misunderstanding of the UK digital economy and is detrimental to informed policy making and strategy going forward.

For example, the gaming industry has ostensibly contributed no jobs or economic value due to under-reported stats.

If you didn't know, the gaming industry is several times larger than the movie industry and Britain has certainly played its part in it.

Read about the Business, Innovation and Skills report that came out recently. There's a link to it in Heather's article.

It's pretty interesting and not the snooze fest you'd expect!
